Default Anyone need some SERIOUS exhaust/intake bends? (new product)

how about a full 360degree bend? haha

i just got these in from our metal tubing supplier. they are pretty nice and i wish i had them when i did my downpipe!

they are not the cheapest exhaust bends, but then again any exhaust bend is expensive...

Can someone explain what I'm looking at ?

Is that a donut, in metal with no seams or welds ?

if so....like on tv...how do they do that ? lol

And would one of those do for welding a 90deg 2.5" onto the discharge of a compressor ?

What sort of radius actually are they ?

Its a donut with a seam on the inside of the bend.

These bends are used when normal 1.5 or 2d bends wont work.

What sort of radius actually are they ?

Nope, just curious as to how these are made.

A mandrel bender shoves the bendy thing inside the pipe so no crushing occurs. Now clearly that's difficult when there is no open end to the pipe, and the ends butt together lol

So these must be pressed out of a sheet somehow ? or a much larger OD section of pipe ?

They're formed in 2 halves and welded togather.

Just for reference, on a typical mandrel machine like mine, I can go just past 180 degrees, on a 7 inch radius with 3 inch pipe. Its actually a little hard to get off, and I dont ussually sell anything over 180 degrees. I can get to about 186 if I really try.

These donuts are great for tight stuff, especially when you have a change in direction rt away.....

On any bender you have to design around the width of the clamp between bends. The benefits are one piece and no welding on production pieces, but limit the design. On most custom fab stuff, you end up in the middle somewhere ideally. Using as little welding fab as needed, while accomplishing the design.

What this guy said. These are not mandrel bent. They're two stamped pieces welded together.
