Boosted 5.3s What rwhp are yall making with what setup?

here is a pic of one I did. hot side I made with 2.5 tubing.
2005 5.3 all stock internals with the stock rings opened up to .022. isky triple 12 cam from stock48, stock 706 heads and truck intake. on3 78/75 cast cheap turbo. running deka 80# injectors at 58 psi base pressure. pump e85 right at 100%dc @ 20.3 psi boost it run 9.44 @141 mph at 3550 lbs. thru a th400 with 3200 converter and 3.73 gear. 31" slick.

I'd kill to see those guys with the 4 second (1/8th mile) mustang with the old stock 5.3 post up a chassis dyno. I don't think they dyno'd it, but given the way it ran on 42 lbs. of boost, it would likely turn this site on its head. That thing had to be in the 1500 hp range at least at the crank.

The things that some of these people get away with on these cheap motors is enough to make me slit my wrists sometimes. I constantly battle an internal demon that laughs at me for throwing a ton of money at my iron 4 head bolt 408 that still doesn't make the power they are.

I hear ya! Had more trouble with machining BS trying to use aftermarket parts than I care to admit. Wish I would have stuck to factory short blocks as well. Tired of pulling apart "built" motors when guys are making twice the power on factory original stuff and racing the whole season.
