rear turbo chatge pipe routes
was wondering if anyone has any pic of different charge pipe routings other then in the normal area that sts runs it through?
more specificaly im looking for the guys that ran theres inside the car or ran it on the passengers side while not hacking their car to ever loving pieces.

I mounted my turbo (STS), then gave the muffler shop a challenge - go from the turbo up to the MAF via the area above the Driver's side lower A-arm and below the steering linkage - the guy did it and did an awsome job!
No hacking my Driver's side 3 point sub-frame connector and no dipping below the K-member!
(It can be done.)

Unleashed did a gen 5 twin rear mount setup. They joind the coldside piping at the rear and then ran a 3inch single to the front. Fro,m there they split the pipe into two and rad through the K. just thinking 2 * 2.0 (or even 2 x 1.75) inch pipes might be eaier to work than a single larger one.

FWIW, I have seen several custom setups that run the charge piping adjacent to the exhaust on F-bodies instead of along the sides. You still will go over the rear axle and route it through your k-member to the TB. Are you running an intercooler as well?
If you still don't have full room for the 2.5 to fit around the area of the k-member then you "Could" transition to a straight piece of rubber or silicone tubing that can compress somewhat and give you flexibility where it is needed.

I am going to run a front mounted intercooler. its going inbetween my foglights. keeping it in between 20" x 13". ill get a br and plate to make up some of the size disadvantage.
Im still ging over the axle to save room. plus it doesnt take up too much. I also have the umi panhard support rod installed so i have some wiggle room in the back too.
im sticking to the 2.5" cold pipe up until i get it to the MAF.
So, running the piping onthe other side of the drive shaft huh? the only problem is the ypipe really gets in the way there and id still have to route around it.

sweet, found the guy.
its the Black lt1 camaro with the rear turbo that goes inside and then to the passenger side of the car and out thefront, over the front wheel well and then to the engine. I myself will change a little bit to the set up like running an intercooler but i now have my inspiration. SAWEET!!

I think you have more room for suspension bounce by going over the axle. Mine runs over the axle and I'm glad it does. It does however make things tight up there. For example, I've noticed a little rubbing on my scavenger pump housing. Poor placement perhaps by the builder. 1/4 inch over and it wouldn't have been an issue. I left it.. lol

speaking of which, wheres the best spot to mount the scavanger? im thinking of doign it like the sts mounting spot, but im not really liking it haning around there. im wondering if i should mount it inside the trunk some where and run the in and out lines through it. still thinking though

I try to keep things outside the car (i.e. under). There is space... you just have to be creative. That's one of the things about rear mounts that appealed to me, not changing too much of the visible areas (engine compartment, interior, etc). Pop the hood and it looks pretty stock, except for the charge pipe.

well for now im gonna stick it where it normall goes, however i plan on knotching that little section under the drivers seat so i can gain about 2" of clearnance. i got plently of aftermarket chassis support mods to make up for the 2.5" of metal to be removed lol
hell, when i remove the cats and put straight pipes in there place, i might be able to tuck the ypipe up a tad. even with the driver side ypipe support hanger it still sit really low
was wondering, what the consensus on the over or under the axle routing?
