Default Cam's Gt91 2002 T/A Keeping the Ac budget build **tuning and Boosting 8/2013**

dOk, here is the much talked about by me thread. Since everyone else is making a thread and I have learned a lot of info from them its my turn to give back. I got this car about a year ago and it had an F1A on it. I drove it around for maybe 300 miles after swapping the th400 to a 4l80. I got tired of the loud blower whine at idle and it takes away from the sleeper look that I am after with the stock wheels on the car. I sold the F1A and purchased the Gt91 from Forced Inductions. I am using a set of ls3 5th gen manifolds that are turned upside down and I cut the flanges off. I then welded thickwall stainless 2 1/2" pipe to them and a v band. Then made a support that I kinda copied from Dschmittie, thanks. I also put flex couplers in the merge to the turbo. Well here are the progress pics that I have so far.
The car. Looks like a stocker, lol.

My work space

The empty hole left from the charger

ls3 manifolds

5th gen ls3 manifolds with pipe and v band welded on.

The gt91

Turbo Brace

The merge

Precision 66mm gate

Mufflex 4" exhaust

I started on the downpipe, will take pics when I get it done. Hope y'all enjoy. Josh

Looks good so far!

Can you keep A/C with the manifolds like that?

Look at the title…. My whole intention is to keep the Ac. This is a street car that I want to be comfortable in and drive yet still make massive power. Thanks for all the compliments guys I appreciate it.

I am ready as well, but need to take my time and do a good job. My realistic goal is september to fire it back up, I think I should reach it.

Probably going to make a alternator bracket to relocate to passenger top side and fans will probably reuse my dual spals and turn them around as pushers.

Thanks guys. Everyone does the truck manifolds and dumps the Ac off he car. I didn't want to go that route so i got creative and this is what I came up with. No one has used the 5th gen manifold in this way so I am having to figure out everything on my own. I got the downpipe tacked together today, but not happy with how low it hangs. Probably going to cut it apart and redo it.

No worries man. I apologize if I came across rude. My whole goal is to keep the Ac. Taking it off the car is the easy way out.

Thanks man. I am glad to see your car going again. I remember when it was a procharger and to see it turbo inspired me to do the same for this car.
