Default Procharger bypass valve removal

Anyone know how difficult it is to pull the Procharger by pass valve? Can I get it out without pulling the snail? Need to pull it to vacuum test it.

Thanks!

I'm not familiar with the G8 setup, but it is literally just clamped into a hose with a vacuum line coming off it.

Yea, doesn't appear to be hard mounted but its difficult to see everything. Guess I'll disconnect the hoses and see if I can haul it out of there. Thanks for the reply.

im not sure how the g8 kit mounts it, or where its located, but the charge piping on my kit had a place that poked out where it mounted with a few tq screws i believe.

if the g8 has this sort of fitment design it should be a breeze. more importantly? why are you taking it off? too loud?

I believe he has the ProFlo surge valve, which is connected by a hose and not the Big Red race valve that is hard mounted into the intercooler piping.

Correct, it is the ProFlow valve. I pulled it out last night, have a hand vacuum pump coming today or tomorrow so I can test its operation per Procharger's instructions. I got a bit less boost increase than expected from a pulley change and just want to eliminate the valve as a possible issue.

What were the instructions procharger gave you? I believe my valve is acting up. Did they tell you if a certain amount of leak is normal?

They told me it should start to open at 1 pound vacuum and be fully open at 3. Also that it should hold vacuum.
