Turbo S-10
Tonight I threw my hat in the ring and started the turbo build.
Representative sketch below.
Tonight, I pulled the passenger fender well, coolant overflow, the climate control box and pulled the header off the passenger side.
Originally I wanted to run a forward truck manifold kit but that plan has already hit a snag. The flange hits the upper control arm on the passenger side. I've got some ideas to get around it.
The truck is a 94 S-10, 2005 LQ9, LS6 Intake (not in the pic), LS6 Cam, 4L80, going to be a BW S4XX T6
more updates to come.

Tonight I got the passenger side manifold trimmed back to fit. I am going to weld some regular exhaust pipe on to extend it and then a v-band into the merge.
There sure is a lot of room once the fender well and the climate control is gone, that 5" down pipe should fit just fine now.
The drivers side is going to be a mess. The steering shaft and stering box occupy much of the real estate that my manifold needs to go in. I've got some ideas though.
The turbo is on the way now too, it is an S480 T6 1.1AR 83mm turbine. Should be fun.
It might be a few days now, gotta wait for parts...

Subbed, my brother and I will be doing a turbo 5.3 in his 94 s10 this coming winter if he has the funds. I'm curious to see how you setup the mainfolds, we were probably going to fab some headers up

I haven't yet... but I have a plan.
My plan is to get some pieces from flaming river and make something work. The flaming river u-joints are quite a bit smaller than the factory u-joint. The factory rag joint is as big as my knee and has to go. I'm going to ditch the power steering too which will give me some more room over there. The factory manual steering boxes are a common J-yard occurance.
I already know that from the end of the manifold, the exhaust will need to go pretty much straight towards the side of the truck. Once I get passed the steering shaft, then I'll bring it around the front, part of the drivers side wheel well will need to be removed to accomplish this.

This is the only pics i have right now. These are my old set up, they are stainless 98 fbody manis on both sides. The truck manifold clears the steering shaft better we just chose the stainless cause it was easier to work with. And just a note to everyone. DO NOT USE the Stainless F body manis on a turbo set up. Theyre twin walled, and the inner wall will come apart and cause alot of cussing. Ask me how i know. . So a few hundred bucks and a rebuilt turbine later im starting over on the hot side. Using the cast truck manis this time.

Thank you for all the info and pictures guys.
That sy/ty thread was quite helpful.
I like the paint color on the gates, timing cover, and rocker boxes.
I went out and looked again and if I flip the drivers side up, I would have to grind some of the bosses off the manifold to clear the stearing shaft but then my alternator will be in the way. So I could switch back to stock accessories - truck manifold and run it that way.
decisions decisions

If you pull that off ill be impressed. I junked the flipped manifold idea and ran a swap header on the driver side with the crossover underneath the bellhousing and up to a flipped manifold on the passenger side. It worked out great until i realized the exhaust would have to go out the fender like secs-10's setup. I didnt want that so i went rear mount. now that my truck is basically done its not as loud as i thought the 3.5" straight pipe would be so i wouldnt mind running it out of the fender
