Huron Speed TC78 Trans Am Build
I've been working on my build for a couple of months now and figured I would share. Here is the details
2001 m6 trans am ram air
huron speed turbo kit
tc78 turbonetics
siemens 60# injectors
JGS 40mm wastegate
RPS 50mm bov
233/239 texas speed cam
Here is where I started, got the Huron Speed kit and some manifolds off e-bay for $30. Figured I would go through the build to show everyone just how easy it can be.

My goal was to keep it as simple and clean as possible and not have to much downtime. I kinda took baby steps doing one thing at a time and driving whenever I wanted to. My 1st step was relocating the alternator.

Next I installed a fuel pressure gauge, replaced the coolant hoses and got rid of the p/s cooler, and installed the power steering lines I purchased from modular turbo.

My next step was to install the injectors, remove front bumper and bumper support, and painted the manifolds using header paint, and to remove the headers and exhaust that was on the car. I tuned the car using hp tuners and used the info from the Greg Bannish dvd to get the correct injector data. Also installed the gm 2 bar map.

It was then time to install the manifolds and the crossover pipe. I am using a stock k-member and it fits perfectly. I was very impressed with the quality of this kit and Jon from Huron Speed was very helpful with any questions I had.

I then mounted the intercooler and routed the intake piping. I removed the fuse boxes from the basket they sat in and trimmed the basket to make room for the piping. I also installed the IAT into the intake pipe by drilling a hole and used the grommet from my SLP lid.

I then wrapped the crossover pipe, installed the bmr radiator support, the bov and the wastegate. I vented the top port of the wastegate to atmosphere and secured the hose to keep debris from clogging it. I used a vaccum source from the drivers side of the intake manifold for the bov and the wastegate, and routed the hose neatly along the bottom of the radiator. I also lengthened the power supply from the battery to the fuse block and routed it in the same location.

Next was oiling. I purchased the oil feed block, oil feed line and oil return line again from Rob at modular turbo. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Whether you plan on building your own or buying a kit, Rob has everything you need to make it a simple job. I pulled the pan, drilled, tapped and installed the oil drain.

Turbo came in! After getting it clocked, I installed it, hooked up the oil lines, and routed the rest of the piping. Again a great fit and no issues. Next I will be installing the downpipe, front bumper and taking it to get the exhaust done to connect to the magnaflow cat back.

Thanks for the kind words. I actually was using the stock fans as pushers! I reversed polarity on the motors so they would spin backwards. It actually worked great but I swapped them for a single Derale 16" fan and added a manual switch. Had to get a shorter belt for the alt. relocation. It was a 73"

It was time for the bumper to go back on. I had to cut about an inch off the foglight housings, do some trimming on the bottom of the bumper and modify the the dust shields underneath to get everything back together. I also trimmed the license plate area, in MO you have to have a front plate. Also installed the boost gauge.
