I used a stock crank, compstar h beams, wiesco flat top pistons with ls3 valve reliefs, upgraded wrist pins, block bored 30 over, patrick g 222/226 custom turbo cam, head studs, ls9 head gaskets and LSA heads. Compression is 10 to 1 and I plan on running 15-17 psi with a Alky control methonal injection set up. Should make 780-800 whp through a t56 and 9".

im about to do twin ebay gt35's on an lq4 for this winter. blew a head gasket in my t76 5.3 s10 and got a good price on an lq4 so decided to keep bottom end stock, tu2 cam, new style timing chain, ls9 headgaskets, ported 317's, comp pushrods, and patriot gold duals. hoping for 500-600whp on low boost then cranking it up later once my fuel system improves.

On the lq4? Starting out and 8 and however much it takes to reach ATLEAST 9's lol. So 15lbs max. That seems to be the safe spot for stock bottom end. Not going to rev past 6500 cause i don't want rod bolts. My 5.3 i only wanted to run 15lbs but the modified wastegate spring wanted more lol. Let off at 18lbs and that's when it killed gasket. A good 2 bar sd tune will keep it safe at 15lbs.

Do a cam springs rod bolts head studs oil pump chain and beat the snot out of it haha if it blows grab another and build it stronger. Biggest part is the tune if you have a good tune your set

I wouldnt do rod bolts unless you were to spin at 6500+. I hear alot of people ruining bearings changing them on a stock block while assembled. But i have no real world experience on doing this. Do ls9 gaskets too

Mine is a 2003 LQ4 and I am currently running 11.5psi. It made 660rwhp through a 6 speed at that boost level. The only things changed from stock are the cam (225/225), springs (Patriot Golds), pushrods and intake (LS6). As many have proven, not much is necessary to make 600-700rwhp on a factory engine. Things like rod bolts I would argue are unnecessary for most. They only add additional rpm capabilities with the added risk of losing a bearing.

What year is your 6.0? That will make a big difference in how far you can go with it. If it came from a 2005 and up truck, it has the larger LS2 style rods which are more capable.

yes, dont touch the rod bolts. tiznodd made some pretty impressive numbers. with the lq4 you wont need to spin past 6500 to make really good numbers. plus, you'll be doing ported 317's so that will only benefit you more.

I'm running 16lbs on my LQ9. I'm only spinning it to just over 6000rpm.
I think I'm at the limit of the stock head gaskets with 10.0CR
