I got a mate here in Aus that's doing it for me, ain't tested it on my car yet, but his confident it will work, my last tune from him was a mail order n/a tune and dyno'd up perfect, let's hope this is the same, the tune his sent me is for a 5.7 lt maffless, 2bar map, using a standalone gearbox, and to suit 71lb injectors that he hi flowed for me. I'm the first mail order tune for turbo his done.

im sure frost could get you something that you would be able to drive the car with to go to a tuner .

Try lt1pcmtuning.com, he did my n/a trans am and did a GREAT job! He does h/c and forced induction and he's cheap. A lot of people on here knock him but he did great by me and a lot of my friends.

My ? would be "why"? Dyno tunes arent that much more, alot less than another engine. If its to get to the tuner, I drove my setup after installing fuel sys with 60's and the charger 60 miles to get it tuned and it drove like stock. I do have a stock cam though.

Mail order tunes are generally good for H/C/I setups or bolt on cars where you can have a little wiggle room in the tune to be not spot on.

An FI car is a lot different and more crucial to having a tune that is spot on (and a more difficult one to get a good tune with via mail order). I would trust (and I have done this before) getting a mail order tune just to be able to drive the car around out of boost to check everything and be able to drive it. Then I would drive it to the tuner for a full dyno tune which is really what an FI car needs.

Lol I can't beleive people actually replied with ways to run boost with a mailorder tune. The most critical part of the whole deal...

Just checking, ya never know. All this info wasnt in your original post. On a side note, If you have or know someone who has HP tuners the shop doing the dyno tune might send you a free "canned" tune just to do what your wanting and get the car to them ready to dyno with no problems...

Well then, I was running a "FROST" tune for a year or so that was tuned for boltons before I went to FI. I simply changed the plugs and installed the fuel pump and harness with larger injectors and drove the interstate 60 or so miles to the tuner.

As you already mentioned, that would have been good to know.

You should be fine.

installed my D1SC, fuel pump, left out the injectors, and didnt connect the blower, just left the stocl lid on and drove it 60 miles to the tuner 0 problems. got there, installed my 60# injectors, connected the blower to the TB, and he put a base tune in it and started going to town. dont even waste ur money on a mail order.... go to the dyno and get it done right... like mentioned before, on a H/C/I car, itd work...still not the best, but for FI, Dyno all the way.....it densest take much to pop a motor with FI when it comes to tuning...

A lot of times if you just want a mail order tune just to get it to your tuner for the full dyno tune, they will refund the difference of the mail order tune. Not everyone does this, but many do, and at that point it's almost foolish not to get the mail order tune to drive it for the full dyno tune.

An estimated mail order tune would be better than no tune at all.

u could just save ur self the hassle and just install ur injectors and hook the intake tube from the blower up when u get to the tuner....

im coming from a pushrod ford 302 background and without a tune or chip my 302 would not even idle or anything...

will the LS 4.8 with 60lb injectors and a LS1 MAF start and idle decent without a tune?

the injectors may give u some issues. leave em out and just run the injectors that ur current tune is tuned with until u can get it to a dyno then swap em when you get there. takes 15min.
