Default LS1 243 heads and pro charger build?

I have a rebuilt ls1 with factory crank, arp rod bolts, factory pistons with new rings, 243 heads with lunati dual springs, ls7 lifters, torquer V2 cam, and ls6 intake. I am wanting to add a pro charger and a safe tune to make around 600 rwhp for a good streetable setup.

Question is should I send my heads off to Advanced Induction to port them and have them reduce my compression to handle the boost? Or will it be safe to leave it factory at ~10.5:1 compression? Will I even see much of a gain with the port since I will be adding boost? Will the torquer V2 cam be ok with the boost?

Leave them stock and spend the money on a meth kit and a good tune. If the short block isn't together already make sure the ring gap is opened up over stock

Will the torquer V2 cam be ok with the boost?
What LSA did you get or plan to get with the Torquer V2?

The LSA is 112.

Thanks for all the replies. I purchased the motor with my car and it is all together right now. I really want to have 550-600 rwhp with this build so I am looking at putting the pro charger on it but need to make sure the motor will hold up like it is. If not I will either sell the motor or do the necessary mods to make it reliable.

It should be fine with that cam and it may bleed some boost off which will help your bottom end out. It is definitely not the best cam for FI.

Is it a big enough problem to go ahead and spend the $300ish for a FI cam? The motor is out of the car with no pulleys on it so it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

If the motor is out I would switch it as long as it is not a big deal but that is just me.

Yeah if you have the options, put an FI cam in it. Brute Speed has some nice ones, as well as Speed Inc. It will make a better, more efficent setup in the end.

Bob,
With a build motor, how high have people spun this cam? 7-7500 rpm?

My Camaro went through the traps at 6800 to 7000 rpm with a badly slipping converter. The cams seems to be done around 6400 to 6500 rpm on most builds. Bob
