I hear you on the coil pack debate. I've heard mixed reviews as well. It would be awesome to see how the stock coils and pcm perform on a methanol engine. I say take the risk on the 5.3 coils and pcm, but it's not my investment. I have you considered a front mount distributor and bs3 set up? Pay now and cry once.

Block is still at the machine shop, hoping next week sometime but we will see (backlogged). Ordered the heads/head gaskets/Moroso remote water pump kit from TSP today. Also ordered all the black nylon 10an and 12an line and a bunch of fittings for each size and other misc stuff still needed. Still need to get the Inj driver box/Alky pump/alky reg and 102mm TB. Should be a big parts week next week.
I'm def going to give the round coils a shot with stock PCM (HP Tuners) and see. I see everyone that has had issues with them were with those coils and an aftermarket (not the stock PCM) EMS and spinning the motor up over 7500. My high end limit will be 6900 to 7000. As long as it stays lit & controls the Moran 500's, I'll be happy. If not, I'll spend the money, but I want to try to make it work.

It really depends on who you ask everyone has an opinion on it. I like methanol better, in my opinion it has hands down better control on detonation then ethanol fuel. It also has a far better cooling effect as well, hence why you never see ethanol injection kits. To each his own.

Some goodies cam in last night (heads/gaskets). The machine work is being done as I type this on the block. Once I get that back, I should be making some ground on the build.

I think you need a 1.50AR if that is even possible on that turbo. I have a x27588 and my backpressure is 2:1 with a 385CI motor and a 1.0A/R. I just changed to a 1.32 A/R and pulled out about 20 more CIs.
Should make power almost like a blower though. Should be real fun to drive.

Used it last year on my 6.0L with great sucess. I have found all kinds of breads of this turbo, kinda strange how many different kinds they made.
Thanks, cleaned it up a little, couple more hrs and it should be done.
