it was a small block twin kit for like 500 buxx with those shitty siamese exhaust port stainless headers. thats what he bought for the TPI motor that was in it, then he swapped in this 5.3 and re did the headers to the kit that was basically already done on the car

Thats badass. wow. Im running kmj head studs as well. 60 bucks and ive thrown 18psi threw a 76mm and they stayed put. one thing that gave them a bad name was when installing they would snap well talking to the owner about he said DO NOT exceed 55 ft lbs. during install. I did exactly that and they went on fine and have been holding up about 4 months of abuse.

i wonder what my friend tightened them down to, i forget if they come with a sheet that says how tight they should be.
the ARPs i have used before the kmjs came out say 40 then 80ftlbs

it made 8hp more when i added in 2deg...
so should i throw 6-10 more degrees at it...
nope.
in my experience, throwing in E85 and jamming in timing like this forum says results in 2 things, no power and broken lower ringlands.
i dont mean to be weird but it seems to be doing great the way it is.
it has about 22deg in it on motor, then when boost comes in it is about 15deg at 12psi and then 10 from 14 and up.
and it made way more tq with 10deg than 12.
