Race gas question
I have a stock bottom end ls1 procharged camaro making 640/540 on 11# peak boost. I know its on the ragged edge to begin with and don't really want to add a meth kit for a few reasons. Would it help at all or benefit in any way to add a gallon or 2 of race gas (110) to the tank mixed in with my 93 on days where I know im going to be pushing on the car a good bit such as the track?

No sure, I barely drive the car actually. I just don't like relying off something mechanical to give me the proper octane ect. I like the idea of running straight 93 with the occasional splash of race gas for a little added safety .Less to potentially go wrong in my eyes. My though on this could change on down the road but that's where I stand for now.

I'm planning on adding a gallon or two of that stuff just for the added safety of preventing detonation. I feel the same way about adding a meth kit I'd hate to have it go out on me and destroy my engine just to get the added protection. Mixing some higher octane fuel in it's just a way of making me feel better especially on hotter days. I know adding to much can affect the hp and then would have to compensate with more timing then your kinda back where you started.

It would probably help against some detonation but I've run alky control on my vette for 2 years now and no problems. mine made 670 hp and 623 tq with 14 psi and meth. Meth is a good thing. Race gas is expensive if you drive alot and play.

On a stock bottom end, not only do you need the extra octane, but you need the cooling effect of methano/water injection. Stock pistons, with stock rings don't like a lot of heat, and if they get too hot, you lose a piston or two, and you may never get an ounce of knock.
There's nothing wrong with using a meth/water kit. I run an Aquamist setup and I am as confident of it working as I am my 8 injectors.
