Anyone running boost on a iron headed 6.0

I dont think they'll be a problem at that kind of boost, may have to run a couple degrees of timing less to help ward of any detonation from the cast heads retaining more heat than the aluminums, if your going to run meth or anything then youl definately be ok IMHO

Most people run Aluminum for several reasons; less weight, better heat distribution, and repairability. The fact that they are iron has little impact on the amount of boost you can run. The design has more effect. If you take a little time woth a porting tool you can clean them up to reduce the risk of detonation. Iron is stiffer so it is less prone to flexing under high boost. The Buick Grand National's had iron heads and we ran over 28 lbs of boost.

I have a 80mm on a iron headed 6.0 in my fairmont. It works great there heavy but they work good. I'll change them over to aluminum when I blow the stock gaskets . I like just testing stuff and seeing what it will take but I have alot of backups laying around incase it fails.

If I am going through the trouble of taking the heads off to port them, then have to get new head gaskets, I might as well do the 317 or L92 swap.
