Default *BEST GEAR RATIO for drag racing/street runs (turbo car)*

Hey guys just wanted to get your opinions on ratios for drag racing. I am in the process of getting a new trans for my c5 corvette zo6. I have The option of c6z-51, c6zo6, and zr-1 ratios. I will still be runing 3.42 rear end gears and i will be within the 700-800hp range. (hopefully)

c6ZR1 Ratio 2.29 1.60 1.21 1.00 .84 .67

c6Z06 Ratio 2.66 1.78 1.30 1.00 .75 .50 OR .80 .63

c6Z51 Ratio 2.97 2.07 1.43 1.00 .74 .50 OR .80 .63

Think it all depends on the turbo...will be running 3.42's w/ a 3600 stall here.

How tall of a rear tire are you going to run? That could be a large contributing factor as well.

The ZR1s ratio seems about a legit gear ratio for the 3.42s.

I would mix it up. Go as tall as you can for the first two gears to help with traction plus the extra load will be good for turbos. I believe the F-Body has the tallest. Then 5th and 6th go ZR1.
