Default PT88 402 c5 only makes 13-15 psi

I have a c5 z06 lq4 block 10:1, 234-236 .612 cam, 317 heads ls9 gaskets arp head studs, bt titanium springs morel link bars fast 102 nw 102 tb pt88 turbo t4 3 inch dp dumped. Went to atmore 1/8th mile track and only trapped 111 on my 18psi spring (gauge reads 18psi) hp tuner scanner showed between 13-15 psi on my runs, I would believe the map before the gauge. Did a boost leak test fixed one leak at the intercooler, tested the car still only 200 kpa max on the scanner. The car at 18psi on a pt88 should have trapped much better than that. I trapped about the same mph on my 7675 I had before. I will post my tune and a log from today if anyone has any ideas I am open to try em out It wont let me post my config file.

15 psi.hpl

USE THIS TUNE.hpt

PT88 is too small for a 402cid engine, and a 3" downpipe is way too small, like said before. Upgrade the downpipe and sed what happens.

3 inch on that cubic inch has to be killing top end.
my stock as a rock 5.3 traps 112mph 1/8 and 143mph on the big end on 19.8 psi
through a 3.5 out the front bumper

Any pics of the setup? I had 3.5 downpipe with my old setup ST80 I'm sure the 3'dp is killing the car and the bigger engine is not helping.
Manual or auto swapped?

Ive git a 406ci alloy ls2, and ive gone 132 mph to the 1/8. In full street trim.
The 3 inch dump is definetly to small for that turbo.
, although mine is a pt88-47, i did have a ot88, and it didnt last long. It pushed forward cos the engine was to big, and that was on a stock ls1.
Buy rights, precision say that my current turbo is to small for a 406 ci, but ive done 15,000 kms, through a 2 speed glide, and its on boost instantniously. Perfect street setup thats done an 8.46 @ 160 mph, hitting the rev cut about 70 metres before the line.

I have talked to a few guys that said I should be able to run 9's and trap 150 in the 1/4 on this turbo with my motor. I know it is to small for my motor and the dp is to small but I should be able to at least make 17psi and 800 through the dp I have. I only wanted to make around 800-850 on this setup because I cant fit anything larger in the car. I made 17 psi on my 7675 on this same setup. And the car is making about the same power if I go by weight and trap speed. I thought the pt88 is a 88-47 at least that is what my center section has on it.

Your choking your combo with that DP. It's not going to do any better until you let it move more air with a bigger DP.

If its making the same power with less boost compared to the 7675, it just means the bigger compressor is able to feed the engine more efficiently. It also means you've reached the exhaust flow cap of the downpipe, as most have mentioned. If you have checked that the wastegate and boost controller are working properly, then you just need bigger dp.

Getting a 4 inch dp in there is going to be a major task, I am debating trading or selling this kit to someone with a supercharger kit that would like to go turbo. Or I will wait untill I return from Korea and see where I want to go from there.

Heres an idea and some thing I did. My turbo is similar and requires a 4 inch dp that i couldn't fit through my kmember. I ran a 4 inch short dp that 90 right off turbo.

At the end of it is a boost activated cutout. Then on the side of the dp i basically cut a hole and connected my 3 inch exhaust

out of boost when flow doesn't matter it goes through the 3 inch and muffler. As soon as I get into any boost its a straight dump off the turbo to the ground.

I got it at sound performance. They are the only ones that make a 4inch boost activated cutout so they charge accordingly. Its like $500 bucks huge rip off but if you need it you need it.
