Highway mpg turbo on e85?
I'm looking for some realistic numbers of highway gas mileage for a turbo lq4 on e85 with a 4l80e.
Chime in whatever you get with your combo. I'm trying to see if my dreams really can come true.

A lot depends on the combo and tune, my ltd with a glide, 2.73 gears, 5.3/76mm will get over 20mpg cruising on the highway at 70mph. The mustang when it was a 347, bigger cam, twin 6766's would only get 14.5mpg, we couldn't lean it out as much as the ltd during cruise, it just didn't like it. If you got a smaller cam, you should be able to run lean during cruising on e85.

I got 13-14 on a 150 mile round trip cruise with 3 quarter passes at the track, and some thrashing on the way there and back. That was with 3.08s, and a TH400, not 80e. I'd love OD and a locking converter, I just don't wanna change anything, add any more weight, spend any more money, etc. LOL.

Most people foolishly don't tune E85 for economy. With its added octane, you can lean it out and bump up the timing at cruise enough to compensate most of the mileage normally lost by switching to E85. In this respect, mileage lost compared to 93 will be less than 10%.

e85 has popped into my head a few times for my possible build but i didn't think mileage would be great at all. 3.73 and 80e in a '00 2500 that weighs somewhere between 6-7000lbs. anything over the 12-13mpg it gets now would be fine, just nothing less.

Id be willing to bed all the guys claiming you won't loose mileage haven't had or tuned an e85 car.
Also no matter what you do at cruise, who the **** is cruising around 100% of the time.
E85 will give **** mileage compared to gasoline.
End of story. Done. No argument. No other side of the story.
