As you can see from the parts list this LT1 is built to the hilt. I think I can safely say I've personally not seen a more comprehensive LT1 build up than this one. Most guys don't want to sink a bunch of money into a LT1, but we felt we could make this one the exception.

We originally built this car with a 383 stroker motor and nitrous. Same heads and a different cam, along with the 24x EFI conversion. It made 450/407 to the tires through a 6 speed and made 608/595 on a 150 shot.

With the EFI conversion in place it made it a no brainer to keep the LT1 engine and throw some boost in the mix! Of course fortifying the weak 2 bolt main block was priority one. I think this will handle the power well......

Turbo fab work(what has been completed)

I will post more pictures soon as work progresses. Fuel system is being worked on right now. The block in the car is a mock up block and the engine will be built in the next week hopefully.

Stay tuned for more!

Looks like it is going to be an awesome build!!!

What kind of power are you looking to get out of it with the turbo?

Back when I had a turbo lt1 a looong time ago they didn't have much efi stuff for them I had to go too accel dfi to get it running right and always had fits outta the opti. But it was pretty stout it made 747hp to the wheels outta a 383 with a 76mm 15psi .Not bad!!
Looking good Martin should be nasty.

All that money and still using a ebay intercooler? Holy cow, lol. Rest of the build looks badass and the WG merge is excellent!

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Taubr,

For our hp goal for this car, the Ebay I/C will do the job perfectly. We're shooting for 800rwhp and feel that I/C has just enough CFM rating to achieve that without ridiculous IAT temperatures.

Matt our fabricator will be making an identical merge for my hot side as well. He's getting some good experience and it's starting to show in his work. I think that merge and waste gate placement is a work of art and for a 22 year old to be able to do that with no formal training is awesome.

Wastegate placement in the bends is the best. I have also leaned a lot since the building of my car. All my future builds will use a design similar to this if at all possible for optimal boost control. Good work Matt. See you guys tomorrow.

Thanks guys!!!

We've honestly never pushed a LT1 this far before. 800rwhp is our goal and where we will be stopping.

800rwhp/750rwtq in a 3400lb. 6 speed street car is going to be enough to handle as it is!

PT76gts, and compstar crank, compstar rods, JE slugs, stock heads, Vic E.

You should have no issue with going past 800hp I would think.
