Default Girdle Questions

So I'm building my '93 Rx7 again after a 12 year break. (age and funds now make it possible to complete my dream car).

Currently I have finished my 383 stroker build but have a few BIG questions (search feature did not give me answers).

If I'm going to run a twin turbo setup on this motor would a engine girdle be needed? Is anyone running this type of setup w/ or w/o a girdle? What are your experiences? What type of girdle would you recommend.

My motor is a Ls6 383 Stroker. Scat crank, H beam rods, -18cc Pistons. Top end will be a BSP Ls3 sm bore stage 2 head. Boosted I'm hoping to get near the 800-900 hp mark with a little more in the bank.

I will more than likely have to bore scope the mains if I add a girdle, possibly even line hone it. But I want to get this motor correct hence why I'm asking about the need to run a girdle when the 6 bolt mains are pretty stout and the webbing might be the weak link regardless.

Let me know your experiences. Thanks a bunch!!

From what I've seen, 800 HP is well within limits of even the aluminum lsx blocks.

BTW who makes a girdle? I thought about putting one on my L33 but I was thinking about building the car for X235 and would be pushing 1000 to the flywheel. Below that I wouldn't even worry about it, and I'm not sure how well it would work out with some of the ls oil pans and crankscrapers.

both are pretty cool. for my application the dm girdle would work just fine. But the eri is stout.

I wouldn't worry about a girdle. There are plenty of guys running near 1000hp without them. Now if your goal was 2000hp I'd say yes.

If you do get one I would defiantly have the mains line honed after its installed.

No girdle needed at that level. I would just make sure to get the mains pinned because they are known to walk.

I've got a brand new DM girdle sitting on the shelf I never used with the longer ARP main studs. You are supposed to torque everything down and line hone it.

I'll sell it for a decent offer. I honestly can't even remember what it cost me. I want to say $450 or $500 though. I bought it about three years ago.
