Default Opinions on ATK built shortblock

Looking for any engine builder, speedshops, or tuner with experience using these shortblocks for low boost street cars.

My goals are less than 800rwhp in streetcars listed below. I'm planning on about 10-12psi and 10.0cr with LS3/L92 heads (-10cc dish pistons?).

Any reason to upgrade from the ARP 8740 Bolts to the ARP 2000bolts? For my goals should I really be concerned about which rings are used?

See links below for info:

Thanks!

Nothing.....

I figured I get some why not blow another JY motor or something....anything. Hopefully someone is using these as they appear to be mass producing them. I doubt Summit would carry these unless they were moving them.

I messaged you buddy. I was serious. Message me back for details if you want a nice motor that will take anything you'll ever throw at it

I have one but it hasnt been run yet. I checked all the torque specs and bearings and they were spot on. Im finishing my turbo install now but should be able to get it tuned in about 3 weeks. If you want I can pm you more info after its done. Overall it was a good price for the shortblock and I went with the upgraded 2000 rod bolts because of my future boost needs

Thanks for the reply. I would like for you to pm your results, but I think I will have already made a decision/order by then.

When or what hp/tq rating is it suggested to upgrade to the 2000 rod bolts? And are the different rings worth the upgrade for my power goals?

I searched your name for a sale ad and didn't find anything. If you have a motor for sell, send me the description and what your trying to get out of it.

In all honesty though, I doubt I would be too serious seeing as how I don't know where your located and probably won't have the ability to have anyone confirm what you (an unknown person to me) really have.

I'll probably end up going with a well known builder such as these ATKs, Texas Speed, or any of the other venders 1st. I was just hoping for some good ATK reviews in hopes of saving a few $$$ as they seem to be a bit cheaper than the other venders.

Texas Speed is a reputable company. I have no doubts that if your buddy truly had problems out of the motor, they would have stood behind it.
