Default 01 Camaro 88mm blow thru 408 Build thread PICS

Okay so me and my pops are building a 01 camaro. We are planning on racing it in local grudge racing and 9.90 index class, but also want to push it to the limits. Plans are

-408 lq9 all forged

-317 heads

- custom headers and hot side 88mm garrett or b.w havent decided

-8 point cage

-lots of midwest chassis parts (great customer service!)

will post pics as much as i can but here is what we started with

Here is after i ripped the whole car apart gunna start taking alot more pics

This is kinda what im aiming for except i am going to use the msd box

Cage in progress and finished

What i do with my spare time -waste it

A whole bunch of goodies
-qa1 shocks
-midwest chassis k member and lower control arms
-2 kirkey seats
-Hurst quarter stick
-ozite carpet

Took time off to play with the cars my pops sponsored and we won! (im the one with the arrow on my shirt dads to the right.

So this is what i have right now a roller with the cage waiting to order the 9" need a little more funds going to finish rear suspension then start fabing up turbo stuff. The motor is at the machine shop now should be done in about a month.

ok just a couple small updates gotta get more pics but i want to give a big thanks to midwest chassis!. My father has been talking to kevin i think he said and he said it is the best customer service he has ever seen. We have got a lot of parts coming just got the pinto rack, viking shocks, subframe connectos all from midwest chassis! Everything looks amazing and is installed on the car. We also got the interior done shifter mounted and both kirkey seats. Also got the ozite carpet laid down what a pain in the *** that was! Had a bad wreck this weekend in our top sportsman car but everything is okay and driver is fine. We are hoping to get the rearend ordered within the next 2 weeks from midwest chassis. Then the fun begins on motor, turbo ect. If anyone has any suggestions for what turbo to run on a 408 lq9 forged motor please give me your opinions! thanks!

Default long time no post

Okay well I have a ton of updates the car honestly doesn't have too much left (anyone have 8gs?) Lol. Some changes too never can just do what was planned and buggeted. First off the car now has strange race brakes on the rear and a 410 dart lsnext motor with the best of the best on the inside Me and my father also decided to run a set of stainless works turbo headers, this car went from being a 9 high 8 second drag street car looking for over 1000hp. Now we're just looking for 7's in the quarter 4's in the 1/8 should be easy.... haha jk nothings easy here is some teasers

O ya and a super vic and our nice carb

O ya and the whole car is plumed brakes and fuel. So all that's left is power adder/racepak stuff/ carb from csu/ and prolly 100 other things I can't think of. Please need opinions on turbo? I was thinking garret gt55 with 1.40a.r or borg warner s500 88 ? Thanks in advance

Very neat build. I commend you on the Labatt Blue. Had a kid on my college baseball team that was from Canada, and he loved that stuff.

Ya every time I leave NY and head south I go to order Labatt blue light and look at me like I'm crazy and hand me a bud light, this car should be sponsored by it because it wouldn't have gotten this far without it Haha

Question maybe someone can help me with, idk why but the assembled lsx ls3 heads that I have come with single yellow springs that just look like ls6 beehive springs to me, the cam in the car is small only .550 lift 117lsa basically just a ls3 cam, we plan on revVing this car max 7,000rpm. What springs should I go with and be safe and do I have to change the retainers and everything or can I buy just some better dual springs? Opinions needed please let me know. Thank you in advance.

Luke,
