Default Twin Turbo LS Satin Black Fox Build

Figured it was about time I started this thread. This car was home garage built over the course of the last 1.5 years. My car history is primarily in very high horsepower inline 4 cylinder motors. You know what they say - no replacement for boosted displacement -

Started with this running swapped car from Oklahoma. Found it on this forum. Great seller. Car was as advertised. Link of for sale thread.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/vehicle-c...6mm-turbo.html

Pictures of how car looked the day I received it.

I know the previous owner loved the blue but I loathed it. I went to the track after fixing a couple of boost leaks and the car ran consistent 10.7s at 134 on pump gas and 11lbs of boost. This is a bone stock 5.3 on hp tuners with an S480 cast wheel. It was fun but I had grown accustomed to higher trap speeds and decided to change things around a bit.

Out went the old 5.3 and TH400. Out with the blue paint. Out with the stock interior. Out with just about everything in the car.

In with a forged 370 / Reid Case Glide / Satin Black Paint / Weld RTS / Twin 70mm A2W / Twin 4303 Magnafuel pumps / Brian Black Mil spec wiring and board etc. / Holley EFI

And now finally, pics of the car. I have finished street tuning to 18lbs and it is insanely fun - dyno this week maybe. Track next weekend for sure. Enjoy.

Good heads up. I have not heard that. They have 4 ply silicone couplers and tbolt clamps holding them. Should I just fab up some pipe?

Ill take some this afternoon for you. Brian Black from Race Wire Solutions has a gift. I wired the car myself but it was with his amazing set up. Best money spent on the car was with him.

Any pics of exhaust manifolds? Logs or stock manis? Your hot side looks nice and compact.

Nice! I will be interested to see the new adjusted track times. How do you like the twin 70's?

It was bahimi blue (sp?).... :-)

Twin 70s are great, still working the kinks out with twin Holley ebcs and on board air. Tuning the PiD is not super easy I am learning. Boost ramps in a little slow.

The exhaust is custom fabbed tubular manis. Ill take better pics of it all soon. The turbos vband right onto the aw intercooler, the whole set up is very compact.

Thats what I did.

I've heard a bunch of and seen a friends, horror stories about those, the ribbing of the flexible line with the silicone, from what i've seen, they just dont seem to grab that well.

Im sure some have had good luck with them, but in the event of you lifting a head slightly, or the clamp not being ideal, im not sure i'd wanna risk that.

For what its worth, i used 1" tubing on both upper and lower and dont have any trouble cooling and my radiator is laid at 30*

Very nice. Are those "name brand" turbos?

As for your slow boost ramp; how would you compare it to your old single? Have you tried running just one EBC solenoid? I have better luck with one Solenoid with twins unless its a stage/compound set up.

What turbine wheels and when do you hit full boost currently? Got a buddy with a similar set up in a s10.

They are MPT70's with .96AR housings. The boost ramp issue is completely related to my EBC tuning with these twin gates and the onboard air. I am only at 49% duty cycle on the boost controllers so I am going to lean on them much harder to get the boost to ramp in.

Also, I noticed on the Holley I accidentally changed it from Boost by RPM to Boost by time and my boost by time settings were terrible.
