Default Gear opinion 373 or 355

Just looking for some input in what gears I should run I'm leaning towards 373 but also on the fence about 355 car has 410 in it right now from my old set up. Current set up car is make 953/811 threw a t-56 it's a moser 12 bolt running a 28 inch tall tire and reving it to 7000 car should trap around 160. Gear calculater shows 373 should put me right on the mark. But just wanted some real world input on what may work best. Thanks

Bump. Does anybody have a similar combo that could give me some insight on what gear set up would work best ordering gears Monday

Unlike the turbo stuff I’ve always heard the more RPM the better on the blower cars since the boost is RPM dependent. Id pick the highest ratio that will still net the desired trap speeds. If that’s a 3.73, I wouldn’t go with a 3.55.

I'm about 6800 at 155 mph with 3.50s but not a stick so some converter slip in there.

I've wondered this myself. I'm not making nearly the power you are and I'm procharged but my 4.10s from my cam only seem to be a bit much. Not trying to steal your thread but let's get some more supercharged guys in here.

No not at all more opinions and setups the better, I was happy with my 410 when it was a nitrous car making 550 those gears seemed to work well with the combo it was a trick trying to get it to 60 on the drag radials but worked well. I will know next week if the 373 were the right decision but I'm sure it's going to work good

Most calculators speeds are usually a little higher than reality.

Do you have a camshaft that will allow you to pull a good strong 7000 rpm in 4th ?

if not, maybe not a lot of point in the 3.73's

When I ordered my S60 I went with 3.54's with the intentions to run a 28'' tire. Nitrous express gear calculator determined at 7000 with 3.73s top speed would be 156mph and with 3.54's it would be 165

I wish there was more helpful data out there for the blower guys. OP let me know how the 3.73's work for you, my power level is only 825 but our peak rpm's are the same.

Any update on how the car is doing with the new gears? I'm in a similar dilemma. My car currently has 4.10s and i already have 3.73 gears as a spare. I'm trying to decide if i'm better off switching to 3.54s, 3.73s or just stick to the 4.10s.

Sorry for not updating this earlier we nvr did make it to the track we got way to busy at the end of the season. The 373 are in the car now and I did street drive it and did some street pulls and I think we hit the mark with the gears car pulls real nice gets into the power fast and hard a lot better than the 410 with them gears were just that much to short and the power hit the tires a little to hard now it's more controlable. Also we've set the car up to spin to 7400 so far so good
