My build: 300zx, Forged LSx, twin 61s, 6-speed. PICS
So while the car has been built already by LS1EXCITEMENT with a stock LS1, I wanted more and I wanted turbos. So I pulled the LS1 out and sold it. So we took a iron 5.3 and bored it out to a 5.7 and started assembly on the new motor with forged internals. Cam is custom from Martin at Tick. Brian Tooley 660 springs titanium and all that, 317 heads with full race valve job, Twin 61mm turbos. Twin TiAL 44mm wastegates a TiAL 50mm bov, Racetronics 160lb injectors, LS6 intake, twin Walbro 450 pumps and going E85. Im hoping for 850+rwhp but would be happy with anything over 800. Opinions? Some pics, enjoy!
Before we pulled the stock LS1
And all the parts!

At the time of my build, no kits. I was the only one on the east coast and less than a handful mid-west and west coast. Theres a swap kit now, but only uses the stock Nissan 5-speed so not sure how that can hold up to the power for long. And thank you

Nice build...
But as happened one of my purchases...might wan to check suitability of those pistons for boost.
CP are **** at marketing/listing their pistons it seems. They just list dish size and forged etc. But no mention of how suitability of use. Top ring land area is very small on the Bullet pistons, which is far from ideal with boost.
Ive a set of 4.005" paper weight's here too, and CP simply said tough ****, it's your fault.
The only one's they said were ok for boost where the ones with the largest dish..which would yield a ridiculously low CR for most.

I'm not saying negative about the pistons. The pistons themselves are super quality, CP make great stuff.
I'm just querying their suitability, and this is backed up by CP themselves.
I bought the BLS1005-005, here is what Rick Canning from CP Pistons emailed me when I asked.
And to be quite honest, further conversation with him...well, I think there is a silent P in front of the Rick with his attitude.
They really market and advertise these pistons pathetically with no proper info or spec as the suitability for various applications.
As said, I'm not knocking, just a word of caution if using them.
I still have the pistons sitting here as they were no use to me, I want going to take the risk.

Those pistons in question are N/A pistons not Power adder pistons. That is why the ring placement seems higher then it is suppose to be.
I would not use those in a blown application.

LS1 Excitement who did the swap is doing it again with RJ Exhaust who does mandrel bends for the turbo set up. Im hoping for 800-850rwhp in a 3000lb car Should be done mid-late Sept.
