Default RHS Block Reliability for Big Boost ?

Hello fellow horse power freaks !

Going with a Big project this winter, there are many options out there to hold big power. Just a couple questions on each setup.

Which block to go with. ? RHS, WARHAWK, or ERL ?

Car in question is:

2009 Z06, Procharger F2 over 22psi.
Caged, seeking for deep 10's or possibly high 9's, (8000DA Altitude)
RPM Stage V 4L80 Swap with stronger rear end.
E85 and Big Fuel system.

Were going to be over 1k whp in power, which block to go with?

The obvious choice and we have experience in would be the LSX, it's a great block, but customer is concerned with weight and heat issues as he would still like to have this as a driver with A/C on during the hot summer months on occasion. Due to Cost we have never ran the $5,000 RHS block but customer is willing to pay that if it's worth it

Anyone run the RHS Block and Head combo ? Results?
Another option is the ERL, we like them a lot too. Just trying to get some feedback from people who have ran similar setups.

Thx !

Warhawk is the most stout of the cast aluminum blocks. We use it in the Impala and Andreas went 4.0, 6.1 with it.

i had a budget built erl superdeck over 1k to the tires that ran 8's in my 3700# car for 5 years with one standard refresh (wear parts, not block related) in about 20k miles driving.

if anyone else has done that with any block at this power level i haven't heard of it.

im sure they would be happy to give you further details on the guts, see sig.

ERL can provide a block that is reliable at twice your requested power levels. The great thing about working with them is they will customize the build to your exact needs, with all of the potential options it is built for what you need not a cookie cutter one size fits all situation

What ever happened to the cracking issues as outlined over on the bullet. RHS was put on blast for a while.......did they ever figure out what the issue was?

You'll like the features of the RHS blocks, especially if your not spending on a pricey dry sump running a production LS oiling system.

The Warhawk is also a good, proven choice, very stout piece.

Good luck with the build.

I am thinking once you go ERL, you must get paid to promote the product. LOL.

We actually use RHS on all of our big boost/power Corvettes. We have 3 street driven C6s making 1400+rwhp on RHS blocks (both tall and short deck) and making 700+ in an N/A C5 with an RHS tall deck.

They can definitely handle the abuse.

I thought Proline stopped using RHS blocks? Isn't that who you guys use?

I would do a Dart/Dartin M.I.D LSNext Aluminum block.

No, we haven't used Proline in some time. We have an in-house engine program now for all of our builds.

I didn't know this when I was looking for a builder 7 months ago. How long have you been doing this?

I will need another engine built for another car here in the next 6-8 months.
