holley mid ram vs vic jr with aaron elbow

Mid ram is a dodgy dual carb intake with their lid adaptor on it.
Never really designed from the outset as an efi manifold at all
Havent heard of any tests or feedback from anyone using it though, it's a very strange one so hard to know how it might perform.
Small diameter turbulent ports...is that good or bad ? It's just hard to see the good in it, but who knows maybe it would work well.

I did see a back to back somewhere. They graphed both the holly types over each other and just like u might think the mid rise was just a little better down low and ran out steam a little quicker way up there. I would think with a conservative valve train it would be a solid contender performance wise but there's not a lot of info around.

Vic Jr is probably one if the worst intakes to run. I'll find the dyno comparison between the two and post it but even at higher rpm it made less hp than the ls6. As for the mid ram I love mine and did all the same research your doing now I'm sure. Its supposed to make power up till 6500 but on my 6.0 it had not peaked at 6900 where the rev limiter cut it off. It wanted more rpm. Currently adding ARP rod bolts and will be increasing the rpm limiter to see where it peaks, but definitely exceeded what I thought it would make.

About 10 lbs of boost on pump 93, no meth. I felt the same way. Also been down the road of having a piston break and once they do the intake may as well be thrown away unless you can take it apart and make sure there are no pieces of piston trapped in tgere waiting to destroy another piston.... Yes I had that happen unfortunately.

whats your setup? any reason you went with the mid ram instead of the high rise or pro flo?

I wanted a pro flo but I doesn't come in ls3 square port. The mid rise fit without windshield or k member issues, it also came with fuel rails. I looked at it as the design would make a better driver, it made more power then the hi ram up to 5000, kept pace with it to 6000 and never planned or imagined I'd spin it past 6500 rpm. So as a result it drives well, builds boost quick, and when boost comes in it revs well past the intended rpm design. Setup is a lq4, ls3 heads, little john stage 3 square port turbo can, s475 with 1.32 ar on t6 housing and a home built crossover.
