Default Anyone running AEM failsafe gauge?

boosting my car and I'm in need of gauges, at least air/fuel and boost. seen that aem makes a "failsafe" gauge which combines a wideband air fuel and boost gauge into 1. was thinking about getting it and mounting it in my center vent, was just curious if anyone is running it and how they like it

I know a couple that really like it. I decided to go with the Innovate SCG-1 (3882) Its basically the exact same WITH a boost controller/solenoid and a built in shift light. I have not hooked it up yet but from packaging its a quality product. Comes with everything from zip ties to hose and screws. It was around $50 more than the AEM but offered eveything I needed and I think it looks nicer.

I found the cheapest store selling it (around $350) then called summit and they matched the shipped price around $360. I was making an order with them regardless.

That gauge does look nice, may go that route. Nice that it has a built in boost controller

I have the aem, and it's worked flawlessly, but the failsafe part of it is too complex. I would buy the innovate with the boost controller. Seems way better, it can back boost levels down if things go lean.

I know right. I have been reading this thread for a while. And I also have been reading up on the Innovate setup.

Has anyone experienced issues with this setup? Not trying to jack the thread.

Def need some input from people that are running them. Seems pretty nice especially since it can cut back on boost when it starts to run lean

I was doing a little research about the Innovate and saw that it uses a serial cable instead of USB. As time goes on its harder and harder to find an adapter or hell even a computer that has a serial port. That and I had a hell of a time trying to get an LC1 to work right which it never did.

I'm all new to this lol. I just like the fact all the gauges are built into one and it has a few extra options. Just trying to see what's out there instead of buying separate gauges for everything. Any other options? If I got a 3 gauge pod I guess fuel psi would be a good gauge to run with the boost and wideband?

Yes it does use serial, was kinda disappointing when I opened the box and saw that. Seems like alot of it can be programmed using the gauges buttons though. I may contact Innovate and see if they suggest any quality serial to usb converters. But we all know how well those work.

From what I read you can do most of the programming through the gauge, don't know how easy it would be tho. Thanks for the input
