Default Best turbo for me

Hey guys I need help finding the best turbo for my application. It is a cammed 5.3 with ported and polished 862 heads. I want to have around 500-550 hp to the wheels and spool rather fast. I don't know much about turbos and the a/r ratio kind of confuses me. Thanks for all the help guys!

Given your specs I'd say stay somewhere around a 76mm with a .96ar or larger AR. Either a TC78, PT7675, s475. Something like that. You don't need a huge *** turbo to make good power on a 5.3. My personal preference is Precision, but people are swinging hard from dat Borg Warner doe.

If going manual i'd strongly suggest the pt7675 cea with a .96 ar especially if you are street driving the thing primarily. It will spool quick depending on the rest of your setup. I like tial bov's/wastegates but not sure whats the best size for you. I'm running a 44mm wastegate and a similar size bov from Tial

Call Jose for FI.com. He can square you away along with getting the best prices. 500-550 rw should be cake to achieve especially w/ a manual. If moneys an option it is hard to overlook the Borg warner s400 series.

any of the 70-76 real or knock off turbos with the 65 exhaust wheel will do it also you could look into the borg s300 line like the s366 all of them should come into power damn fast and make 500 to 600 whp

I'm a fan of Turbonetics turbos, but everyone really has their own personal preference and experience. Mid 70's compressor wheel (75-76mm) will put you right in the compressors sweet spot for your power goal, and you wouldn't need anything over a 65mm turbine to hit that power goal.

S366 would be a good fit. T4 .91 divided.

The 7675 is a bad little turbo. Not sure if your going to be looking to make much more power down the road but im at 900 RWHP with a Automatic trans with one but its maxed out there.
