Default Turbo size for 280hp 800cc 2 stoke

What size turvo would you use on a 800cc 2stoke.
Stock it makes 140 hp, so I'm wanting to double it. It's a 2002 polaris, rev to 7800, weight is 600 ish lbs with me on it. Had it running a few years ago with a Iht RBH5, then took it a part because it was not very trail worthy. Now I bought a smashed up one and I'm wanting to put the turbo kit on it. Just wondering if I should change the turbo to something else.

A Garrett T3 "Super 60" would work well for you. As would a Mitsubishi 16G. A Garrett GT28 ball bearing turbo would work well but a little more money.

I have ran all of these on 1300cc Hayabusa engines, all will support up to 320-350hp when maxxed out.

I hope you have a killer intercooler, race fuel or boat loads of meth to make 280hp with 800 cc...because you'll be cramming 20 psi of boost in it to get there.

It will be on c-16. Good intercooler.
Snow west is were I got most the info when I out it together the first time. Very good site, just hard to find any "flatlander" on there. I'll probably start with 10 or so psi and work to 20+. It's just a toy to run around the neighborhood.

Im glad you posted this. I take a shitkicking at work for owning a POPO quad. And they are all about skidoo. Now i wanna buy a POPO sled and turbo it to blow their skis off. Just to shut them up a bit. They talk like they know it all but they constantly break them and couldnt clutch their way out of the garage from the sounds of it.
Ive never owned a sled so i sit quiet. BUt i got a feeling with some decent hardware i could leave them in the dust. Good guys though. Just gets tired of hearing the know it all routine with busted **** steady.

I run a Garrett 2860 on my Ski-doo 1200. Makes 300hp on 18lbs. I've never even looked into a two stroke though so I'm not sure if the application would be the same.

I guess you got your build sorted out. How far have you driven with the turbo on there? Maybe you should come down and give my co-workers a hand. LOL.

Not very far. I got it sorted out right at the end of the year. I've only driven it on 6lbs and it was a handful. Had it dyno'd and the 18lbs was on race fuel. It will never see that much boost unless I buy a new clutch for it. Mine is good for 250hp or so.

GTX 2867 for your goal although GTX 2863 would be more useable all round.
Expect a lot of issues with aiming for 2X power [ 2 stroke 800 ].
4 stroke snowmobiles can do 300+ all day long and much more in race mode.
