Default When do you have too much injector?

I currently have a set of FIC1000's on my truck. It's an SBE 5.3 with an S480 and after having several changes in plans I decided to forgo installing my meth kit and AMS500 boost controller just for now. I just want to get this project mobile and drive it and have fun for a bit before I try to get carried away. I have the EFISource Microsquirt with the Sloppy Mechanics turbo tune also. Can I run my current injectors even though I am shooting for much less rwhp now or will it become an issue? Eventually I would like to step my game up but for now I just want to drive this pig again

If they're high impedance you should he able to get them to idle well. Idle quality and cruising behavior are really the worst problems with big injectors.

I'm running a stock L33 at 9lbs with 120lb injectors and idle at 700rpm no problems.

You will be fine. You could run 80s on a stock motor. With tuning.

What will matter more here is whether you're batch fire, or some form of sequential injection ( whether actually correctly timed sequential or not )

ie 2 injector pulses per cycle or 1 injector pulse per cycle.

If the former, then those 1000cc injectors are effectively becoming as hard to control as 2000cc at low loads because they're always firing twice for every engine cycle.

OEM ecu will always be proper sequential.

Not to hijack, but i run 80lb injectors and at idle my IDC is 1% . Is this pretty normal? My idle quality is good too.

If idle is good, mixtures are good, emissions are good, then it is fine.

Micro Squirt can only batch fires and requires high impedance injectors. Are your 1000's high or low impedance? I had issues getting the PW low enough to idle 120's on pump gas in batch fire. Can't imagine micro firing larger than a 120lb inj on pump gas.

I have four vehicles running 2200cc on e85. All of them needed more than 1000 but the 2200s are bigger than needed.

They idle well enough for the setups. Not great. On gas I would not try.

One of the biggest things to look at is the minimum pulse width on the injectors. If they use the old school bosche bodies that are stuck around 1ms be very careful about going too big. Some of the nicer ones that will idle down in the .4ms range are much more flexible.
