Looking for a basic Supercharger kit?
Hey all you awesome peeps,
I've been working on a Heads/cam build with a low-mile LS1 w/ PRC stg 2.5 heads, full exhaust, etc. (Have not picked the cam yet).
And I started thinking, instead of hitting the 410whp-440whp I'll hit with this motor, why not supercharge it and hit 500whp+ lol.
I would preferably like something on the "smaller" end of things, optimally something that would replace the intake manifold or be a smaller looking kit like the Vortech kit that doesn't require a big front mount inter cooler.
I am open to removing the A/C, but keeping it would be nice
EDIT: Which if I need an intake manifold I'd pick LS6 or FAST 92.

I recommend going with a ProCharger D-1SC 8 rib kit with the larger 4.5" twin intercoolers, shown at the above link. This kit comes with everything you need except for the tune. You can bracket race with this kit and not have to worry about soaring inlet air temps that a lot of other kits will incur. If you want to see a copy of the installation instructions, send me an e-mail asking for them. brutespeed@gmail.com is my e-mail. Bob

If it is a F-Body, I'd buy a D1SC kit like Bob mentioned or even a P1 if you find a guy selling one used. You get into the cowl area real quick on these cars.
A friend of mine had a P1SC kit on a '99 Vette. Bone stock swinging assembly and the heads were never off of it. He put it on at 50,000 miles and traded it to a guy in Wisconsin toward a restomod '69 BB Vette with a 5 speed Tremec in it. That car is still thrilling the new owner with over 550 RWHP and 103,000 miles (last fall no telling how many now). Cam, Headers, Exhaust. Fuel Pump and Tune.

Im changing directions with my new motor setup and have a complete low mileage f body D1SC with 8 rib setup with the upgraded intercooler and polished plenum I was going to be taking off my car. I will sell if anyone might be intrested in it. No sence in keeping it around I guess. Made 543 rwhp at 8# of boost on stock motor with Bobs blower cam through an automatic.

Thanks Bob, I'll read over the link!
I'd love to see some pictures and a price range if you have one in mind

The link I showed above is a good way to go. You get the wider eight rib belt, and the thicker 4.5" twin interoolers. The base ProCharger kit comes with a six rib belt and 3.5" twin intercoolers. The base kit also uses a small 6.0" crank pulley that has pins in it that fit into the stock harmonic balancer. The kit I showed a link to uses a larger 7.65" crank pulley, and comes with an ATI Performance Products 918853 harmonic balancer. The crank pulley for this kit bolts to the balancer. The larger 7.65 crank pulley means you don't use a small of a pulley on the blower. A larger pulley gives you better belt wrap (ex o/O). Bob
