Default running the turbo without being hooked up to the intake?

As it says I want to heat cycle the hot side a few times and make sure there are no leaks. I have the supply and drain lines connected to the turbo(precision billet 7675) but still have the pipe from the intercooler to the intake off. I am putting in bigger injectors and deleting the maf sensor so it will not run with it all on so I was wondering before I do it. Thanks!!

you're fine, once turbo is getting oil.

I've always wondered about this, done it myself many times, and seen countless others with no ill effects. I've always wanted to know if the turbo would 'over speed' if given WOT at high revs while there is no load on the compressor wheel.

Be okay to run parked to heat cycle and check for leaks, but driving it you are likely to overspin the turbo.

You'll over spin the turbo if you attempt to hit any king of load or rpm without it hooked up.

Thousands and thousands of guys have had intercooler couplers pop off during the quarter mile while they are high RPM running wide open. Its pretty rare that a turbo acrually gets damaged from it.

Unless youre at 6000 RPM, youre not going to overspin it and cause any damage.

yea I do not plan on driving it unless you count pulling out of the garage. I just want to heat cycle it and check my screw ups lol.

Ive had my charge pipe pop off multiple times at the track and had to drive the car home 1.5hr away with no ill affects other than having no ***** for power overtaking cars on the highway lol.It made for hell alot of noise though.

Apparently there is no risk at all.

With little energy to drive the turbo, and no load against the compressor, it simply will not spin that fast.
