Default Turbonetics turbos?

Anyone on here using them? Have anything against them? I've been pretty set on an S475, but the 78mm "Benita" has had my interest as well.

I use them all the time. Be aware of the 68mm turbine wheel on most of the $700 ones. You will want the 7575. 7875 etc to make power.

I'm looking into the 78mm Benita if I decide to go with a Turbonetics

I've got a 78mm Benita ball bearing unit w/ a 1.15AR with 1K miles I may be selling. The smaller 68mm turbine restricts my 5.7 w/ ported truck heads and custom cam above 6K but makes stupid torque down low. Great for a street car. As for the unit I have no complaints, works great, sounds killer and spools super fast.

I had a 7575 billet BB t4 .96 on my bine stock ls1, spooled stupid loud n quick and i loved it! made 565 wheel 12lbs thru auto and 9inch. Nothin wrong with turbonetics.
Currently running a BW now and love it as well, the ONLY thing i wish BW offered was ball bearing. but theyre both great turbos but for the quickest spool id go tnetics for ball bearing

It really does spool stupid fast. You really have to work second gear to keep traction and third gear barely hangs on when the tires are warm. If the tires and concrete are cold then there's no point at all lol. It's great. I'm only on 5 lbs. right now since I'm not sure how far I can push my Walbro 255. As soon as I find a way to get more fuel without butchering my stock bucket the 10 lb. spring is going back in!

What I'm building should be real fun. Doing a 98 2wd 4dr Jimmy. Gonna back it with a 400 turbo and possibly s built 8.8 rear end. I was looking at the S475 prior to the Turbonetics, but I figured the Turbonetics would take up less space than the S475.

The TC series is definitely more compact than most other performance turbos. I'd have to down size to PT74 or 75 to get a compressor housing close to the same size. If your looking for torque then the TC78 would be your best bet for the money. I can roll into it going down the highway in fifth and it just moves, no waiting lol.

I use a Tial 38MM WG and Tial 50MM BOV, only because I got them with the turbo lol. No issues thus far with boost creep or the like. I've been told you want a given size WG for a given size turbo and planned boost level. Since I'll never see more than 10 lbs with my stock rotator I was told the 38MM would work fine. Pretty sure the Huron Kit has provisions for a 44MM though?

Reach out to Jose @ Forced Inductions. He's a good guy and will point you in the right direction as well as make recommendations.

I'm feeling a little more than 10psi myself lol, but I'm building a toy, not something to drive on a daily bases.

No complaints here, just make sure you use a oil restrictor so you don't push oil past the seals. Turbonetics will tell you not to use one, but any oil pressure above 45psi will push oil past the seals. Other than that I love it for what I'm doing.

Have a recommendation for one? And post a link to it if you don't mind. I'm a newbie to all this turbo business and trying to learn all I possibly can.

This is what I used: http://www.summitracing.com/ga/parts...0288/overview/
I know their may be others on ebay, but this one fixed my oil issues. I also used -3 AN feed line. Do not remove the the original feed adaptor from the turbo, go to your local parts store and pick up a brass 90 degree 1/8 to 1/8 NPT adaptor if you need it. I hope this helps.

That is a load of ****. My oil pressure has seen 100psi and both of my TN turbos are bone dry. Run the proper sized drain and keep your drain angle under 15*

DO NOT run a restrictor until you have exhausted all other options.
