Default 5.3 iron block turbo best budget pistons and rods?

Okay guys I know the sbe will make good power but who has forged .030 over pistons and forged rods? Or what stock replacement will hold 850rwhp? My car wasn't tuned 100% and I took it out and melted a couple pistons like an idiot and bent a couple rods. Some of the piston is melted onto the wall of the block it isn't indented it's external. Is it worth trying to bore it .030 over and throw a different piston in?

You can pick up complete running 5.3's for less than $300. At 850whp you're toeing the line of needing a rotating assembly and staying oem short block. Personally id slap another short block in, get a solid tune and enjoy.

That is what I was thinking just run a lil john stage 2 cam kit. I have an aluminum 5.3 from an ssr in the garage I can use for it as well. But everyone said I need forged

I have a custom made for me Wiseco piston that has a steel ring set on it instead of the standard moly.... they are 3.80 bore....

750 gets you the pistons, rings, H13 pins and locks.... thats about 140 cheaper than you can put together the off the shelf wiseco pistons for...

Combine those with a set of callies Compstar rods... and I'll do you a package deal at 1350 for both pistons and rods.

6.25" Eagle SIR forged I-beams are $270/per-8,
3.905 x 1.175" JE forged pistons are $795/per-8.
$1065+shipping from summit racing.
Rod ratio of 1.73 is about as good as it gets for the 3.62" crank and 9.240" deck height.

Haven't had machine work done recently...what is the cost difference for machine work (bore, sonic check) the 5.3 block up to 3.905 vs 3.800?

Given that .030 is still a bore job, not a hone, I would imagine the cost of boring the block out to 3.905" vs 3.80" is going to be the same... With the cost of the sonic check being additional for the 3.905" bore as a worthwhile peace of mind.

Plus, although probably negligible, the higher rod ratio with the 6.25" rods will actually stress the cylinder walls LESS (than a shorter rod).

No need man. I could have called to order.
I will call and get info for bore clearance, finish and suggested ring gaps etc.
