Default Corvette blower setups; step inside

So I told myself after I traded the turbo Camaro for my C5Z that I was going to just do a simple setup and drive it. After I added up everything to do a heads and cam setup right, the price for a blower kit cam to about the same so here I am again. Always wanted a supercharged zo6 anyways. I have been looking at the ECS and the A&A kits. What kind of blower, supporting mods and power are you guys getting and using? Which kit you prefer and why?

Take a look at the new ProCharger Direct Drive bracket, shown above. I recently sold one to a customer with a C5, I haven't heard back from him so everything must of fit just fine. This is now offered in a 12 rib as well, and is listed to work up through an F-2. Bob

The other customer bought the bracket, blower and some other parts. I could work it out to where I'd sell you a complete C5 kit with this new bracket. I'd swap out the standard Stage 11 C5 bracket assembly for this new one. If you are interested, send me an e-mail or a pm on it with your phone number, I'll figure out pricing and give you a call back. Thanks. Bob

You need to decide your goals in order to choose the right blower setup. I personally like A&A kits but all can work well. If you are not honest with yourself about what you want out of it, you will just end up spending twice.

Want to do the total opposite of my turbo camaro. I want an all around balanced car that makes 600-700rwhp. Do not want to lose driveability or any creature comforts. Want to be able to head to VIR and a half mile event the next day. Track times I really don't care about. I want this car just to be fun. Trans is getting built next week and as of right now the stock ls6 will stay stock minus a spring upgrade. I also want to make tq and not just a peak hp number

I would look at a base A&A kit ( or ecs and to compare). These are proven reliable and safe. An ECS stage 1 fuel system is perfect and an easy install for that power. Best thing is to speak to each...and compare. Josh at A&A is easily reachable and service is always great.

If you are not already, get on the Corvette forum. There are many helpful guys there and tons of info and reading on what you are trying to do.

Yea I have been reading on both setups a lot. I'm leaning towards the ECS kit but I haven't talked to them yet to get a feel of which company.

I went with a&a and on my Ysi setup I make 950 at 15lbs a&a has great customer service, but I can say I used ecs once and there customer service was lacking.

Does the A&A bracket work for all the vortevh setups? Can they fit a pro charger?

I have an A&A bracket for my procharger. Just got it a few weeks ago. My PC bracket was working fine but I'm upgrading to 10 rib for the future and PC doesn't have any 10 rib supported so I had to look elsewhere. My PC kit had been good for me. If I was choosing between A&A or ECS however I would chose ECS. You get a better bov and bigger blower in the base kit where A&A it's an upgrade.

ProCharger has a new 6, 8 and 12 rib direct drive system for these Corvettes, that recently came out. Bob

I know that already. I already had a procharger kit. Upgraded the drive system to ATI 10 rib but PC doesn't make 10 rib stuff so I either needed to get the Dallas Performance J bracket or just get the complete PC bracket from A&A to run 10 rib.

If I was to buy a PC kit new again I would get the same D1SC upgrade that I did with a 8 rib direct drive.

Gotcha, that makes sense. Bob

Yea I noticed that today when really looking into them. The ECS seems like more "work" or more things need changed to make it work. At this time the ECS is 500 cheaper though.

I'm not familiar with the install I do know the headunit and blow off valve alone is worth it.

Novi and vortech are the same headunits. The A&A kits come with a Si trim/1200 where as the ECS kit comes with a T trim/1500 out the box. If you wanna hit 700whp it will be hard with the Si headunit even with cam, headers, and meth. Just to get close you would spin that little blower hard.
