Turbo street cars what does your torque convertor flash to?
Ive heard some say 2500-3000 convertors others say higher.
I have twin 64mm on a 390ci motor making 1000hp 3.27 gear and 28" tire.
Its flashing 4000rpm turbos are fully lit at 5000rpm and pulls hard to 6600-6700 then stats to flat line. Is that too loose or good? PTC convertor spec to this set up.

i feel like a perfect street car converter should be a grabby 2500, you can foot brake to nearly 3k if you try really hard, and will couple in boost around 4k
any higher stall, or looser than that, and it drives like **** or makes too much trans temp IMO
but that sometimes isnt what works or lays down the best times haha
do you have the billet 1000$ ptc?
on my friends car it was pretty big 4k and like 5500 in boost 403 with a s484, made 1200whp or so
on kill it would swing to 6k before coupling well but easily threw down 170mph traps, so it was coupling up in that last 1k of RPM really well
sometimes they might feel loose up top because theyll just hang, but so long as they are throwing down big time MPH its working lol

It is a $1000 billet ptc
Car does street drive really well. Goes down the highway good also. Don't have a trans temp gauge in the car. Maybe I should add one.
I say turbos are fully lit at 5000 rpm but it take only a second to get there. Spools really quick

yeah that is a really great converter, in the 7 sec car my friend built it would make lava temps at times, with the big stall, 1000+whp and 3.08 gears
so might wanna watch it lol

There is no ideal or set "flash" on a converter. Weight/gearing/power all play a huge part in a converters flash rpm. If I put your converter in my car it would act totally different. So asking what other peoples converters flash to isn't the right question to ask.
What is the PN of the PTC converter you have? what kind of RPM drop do you see on the shifts? Get it to a 1/4 mile track and calculate what the slippage is. Then let the PTC folks know and they will tell you how it should act and if it should be changed.

I have a PTC can footbreak to 3000 grabs at 5200 and when you shift at 7500 drop is to 6700. Spool is instance 427/midframe 88 and hoping with the added power this year we can add John Deere fluid and get another 3-400 rpm but if not it will go back to PTC with data logs.
