Default Which stall to get .........

I'm in the market for a new stall and was wondering what you guys are running. My setup is a procharger making 10# and rwhp is only 550 ish going thru a 4l60e car weights around 3400 w/me. Was running a SS4000 but was thinking of going with a 3600-3800 . Been looking at FTI / Circle D / PTC and Yabnk again.

Why are you looking to change?

What does it flash to?
Shift rpm and fall back rpm?
Slip % at the top of high gear?

Have you ever had the thing on a dyno to at least get an idea of where the motor makes power? If not, do you have access to your V/E table? If so, overlay a run and tell us at what rpm you have the highest V/E number. That will give an idea of peak torque.

I'm waiting on tax money so I can buy HP tuners so I can data log ,since my tuners and friends not at track to use theirs.

Just wanting something a little tighter , never had any problems with it when I was N/A but once the procharger was added just not the same had issues hit rev limiter on shifts and before end of 1/4 . I had the trans freshened up over the winter and nothing bad was found inside just normal wear and tear . Might just try a YANK SS3600 this time if not I can send it back for a free restall as I I"ve allways used Yank stalls .

What RPM brings you to boost?
If your chassis works, your stall should reach that.

You mention the issue of hitting the rev limiter before the end of the track. What tire/gear/rev limits do you have? I assume you are in a 1:1 high gear at the finish line???

Rev limiter set at 7k, 3.42's, 315/35/17

Went ahead and ordered a new Circle D stall so hopefully first week in march I'll get a chance to try it out.

So what made you change to Circle D? What size stall did you order?

We went with the 245mm diameter similar to the ss4000, but opted for a slightly tighter pump and stator combination. We agreed that without changing rear gear or tires, this would be necessary. We wound up with our 4C 38-4000 stall speed. This should allow appropriate RPM drop on the shifts, without sacrificing much if any 60'.

I'm pretty sure my 60 ft will improve with the tighter converter as I'll probably leave a little harder now with the newer trans with all the other upgraded parts and stall combo. Cant wait.
