Default new best today.

we'll after a long winter I made it to the track. after having issues last year I upgraded to some new 275 pro tires. I don't really know how much pressure they like but 17 psi works ok. changed the posi to a auburn pro and some good axles as well.

more recently they started selling e85 down the street from me so I swapped to that and have been working on the tune.

I made 6 runs today the worst being a 10.57 at 135. just to see how the radials hook with a 1.84 60' lol.

after that I started hitting it harder

10.45
10.25
10.24
10.44

and the best

1.55
6.57 @107.83
10.15@134 mph.

had a blast and I think I found the limit of my air shocks and slapper bars.i think some good shocks will help. all runs runs 12 to 12.5 psi boost 15* timing. thanks.

Nice! Do you think it will be capable of dipping into 9's?

yes I think with good old slicks it whould have hit 9s today. but I had to hold back on the launch so it whould hook . couldn't really use the launch control as it whould over power the tires and spin. I had plans to try as much as 15# boost but it was hard to make a good pass at 12 # so I only tried 1/2 pound more and that was all.

Very nice! Don't count out those slapper bars! A buddy of mine had a Nova that went 9.20s on slappers. Good springs and shocks are the key. More the shocks than anything. Any believe you did it on air shocks! It'll go 9s no problem. Probably on the radial too with a good shock.

Awesome runs Mike! Those drag radials take some getting used to. I finally got mine working well at 22 psi. But I had to play with them. They liked a harder burnout than the ET Drags as well. Best of 1.58 60 ft, nowhere near what yours will be capable of. Your results will vary, lol. 9's will be easy now and your only at 12 psi!

the most air I tried was 17.5 or so. and I agree with the burnout it seemed the more I heated them the better they worked. I had to bring my rpm down some at the launch or the car whould hook for about 30 ft then do a little hop unload then hook again. . I'm thinking the shocks are the issue. I'm going to move both shocks inboard of the frame and go with some adjustable shocks and try it again.

Yep, that's the shocks. Movin them both to behind the rearend will help as well. In the sock configuration (one in front and one behind) the right side shock is tryin to extend and compress at the same time as the rearend separates and rotates. You're on the right track.

That MPH at only 12 pounds is impressive and makes me think that it will go much faster.

thanks

it has always ran good mph. I think its the 3.23 gear . the thing that still surprises me is how I still have to hold back at the launch to keep it hooking with a 1.76 glide and a 3.23 gear with a 28" tire. and an all steel car at 3500 or so lbs.

no track prep is right. they spray the first car length a couple times per day but other than that it is just blown clean and start racing. . if the sun is out and it is in the 70s for temp it works pretty good . basically no prep radial racing .lol.

it is close and I can make as many runs as I like as there was only about 30 cars there yesterday.

Congrats. You are the first person I have seen hold back on the launch on a 275 Pro. There was a no prep race near me last weekend and guys were putting cars on the bumper with the Pro.

Great performance for such low boost! You're not even beating on it and practically in the 9's. Congrats!!!!
