I think you need a 114-115 lsa?

I have a 230/232 600/607 114lsa and I've been told it's ok because of the lsa!

You are going to want an ATI ProCharger D-1SC instead of a P-1SC, as you will be leaking out some boost, and you will be able to spin the D-1SC fast enough to give you the amount of boost you will be looking for. Your cam is not optimum for boost, but it will work. Bob

Not to be a "thread jacker" but, my cam specs are 252-260 580-600lift 112lsa.. Now can someone please help me understand how this cam is no good for booost???? Ive called about 3 different cam grinders who all told me the cam i have is fine, h/e others say the cam is causing all my boost to be lost out the tailpipes due to the valve staying open too long or something>> Ive seen allot of good numbers out of stock Z06 cammed FI motors... My motor- F1 procharger sbc 14lbs
-thanks

Here comes a generalization...

112 LSA will have more overlap generally than a 114 LSA cam, and the 112 will probably not make the same peak HP. But the 112 might have a better midrange.

For the guy with the monster 252/260 cam (hyd or solid), if it's hydraulic the 112 helps you out since you probably don't want to spin the engine over 7500 to find out where ever that cam peaks.

My 236/246//114 Cam Motion grind was peaking at 6600 with my YSi. Had I run more intake manifold my power peak would have moved some. Had I run a 252/260 hydraulic on a 112 I wonder if that would have peaked at like 7200-7400 or something. Hard to say.

The cam is a solid roller and fell off around 6500 rpm... I heard if i got an optimum blower cam that im only talking a difference of about 20hp, is that true?? Why do these little baby Z06 cams produce so muchn power?

SSDreamz, basically the 112 means you have more overlap, at you would have hmmm less efficiency due to more of the boost charge 'leaking' out from having more time when the intake and exhaust valves are open at the same time.. they would 'overlap' more/longer.

Blownbird, could be, the value proposition is always, is it worth say another tenth to have the most optimal cam in the car? What if it was three tenths? My guess is that it might be a 1-3mph, but the difference might not be huge.

The 'baby z06 cam' might be like a 208/218//117, so it's better than a stock F-car cam. But don't just get caught up in peak numbers. The Z06 cam might make great peak power. But if the power curve is steep, that means when you shift say at peak hp and then the revs drop down you can drop from say a peak of 800rwhp to a lower power level of 600rwhp. Now if you compare that to a car that makes 800rwhp for about 2000 rpms, which car might be faster? The car that has higher average horsepower numbers.

You might for example find a blown Z06 that ran about the same mph as me, but then when you factor in that a car like that is like 300 lbs lighter than me, well, that means I am make more power. Are there any blower cars with a z06 cam that have gone almost 145mph like me at 3450 raceweight?

If you were me would you keep the current cam or swap it out?? My dyno graph looked like a straight line ================ 500rwhp 498rwtq from 4500 - 6500rpms when it started to fall off... Also take into factor that my car is more a street car.

Straight line is better than a something peaky. so you made 500rwhp with a 14 lb F1?

I made 730rwhp with a 17 lb YSi, and 754rwhp (less peaky, cam swap) with 21 psi.

Post a dyno graph. With your cam u have around +32 of overlap which is just too much. You want to keep it under 6 maybe 9 max. The thread starter has around 9 and i think he can get away with that cam no problems.

My cam has a -1 overlap and it does make efficient power. It makes 500rwtq at 3500RPM and 609rwtq at 4700 RPM on a Mustang dyno. Im only running 13 lbs of boost from a D-1SC that still have 13000 RPM left on it.

I think the cam is hurting your numbers and u should be over 600rwhp easy with an F1 blower at 14lbs.

Those numbers are with no intercooler and a totally shot "bar-b-qued" cap! I really hope my cam isnt hurting me as bad as u say... Im dyno'ing the car in about 2 weeks again with the intercooler so ill post up results. Does the -/+ the cam is installed at affect overlap? because my cam was installed 4 degrees negative

Not exactly guess its just whatever u prefer! TSP likes it on thier blower setup so I guess it could possibly wrk in another blower app also! I personally dnt want that much duration or lift! Just need to get 300 bucks for it!

No, it's ground into the cam.
