need help selecting ati kit please
IM looking to buy a procharger kit next week and I want to get the most bang for the buck. Ive got a 00 ram air with pacesetter lts, 2.5 true duals into dynomax bullets over the axle. only mods so far. What kit do you guys recommend, how about pully size, do I need a smaller pully becouse of my exhaust to keep boost up? p1sc1 or d1sc, can I buy the complete kits or should I get the tuner kit. whose got the best prices? any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

if I go with the 8 rib do I need to buy a new balencer and pully? do I have to pin the pully to the crank also? how much extra money is this setup going to cost over the complete base d1sc kit for around 5k that comes with 38 lbs injectors, a fuel pump and programmer

Get with Bob at EPP he will set you up with every thing you need and tell you what you dont need.
Basics,
D1SC tuner kit,
ATI Dampner and 8 rib drive. Pinned to the crank.

Good fuel pump, Plug n Play Racetronics is the way to go.
I would stay a way from the programmer if you have means to do your tunning or some one to do it.
Ie good dyno tune is a MUST!

It's a new pump that you replace your factory one with. It comes with new fuel wiring too (power carrying wires going from the front of the car to the back) which is a sore spot for the factory also. On the factory stuff you get voltage drop when you ask for more demand with a bigger pump. The Racetronics kit is "100% complete" as far as the fuel pump needs go. Add some 60 pound injectors and a dyno tune with the D1 tuner kit and you're ready to rock. Oh yeah, the 8 rib pulley too.
You may want to search this forum. Seriously you'll have hours of reading with what's already here. Just click the search box close to the top right and type in a catch word(s). You'll have pages of stuff. Then search for more. ~Joshua

You can do a 255 intank pump and hot wire it. Hot wiring the pump gave me another 60-80rwhp worth of fuel. It held the FP alot better. That gave me enough fuel with the 60lbs injectors until 600rwhp on a Mustang dyno. Now im adding another pump, FPR, -8 feed, stock feed as return, and Speed inc fuel rails.

Thanks everyone!
The D-1SC automatically comes with the larger and new for '05 4.5" thick intercoolers, where the P-1SC comes with the standard 3.5" thick intercoolers. These larger intercoolers are an option for the P-1SC as well. The D-1SC also comes with the newer eight rib belt assembly, which eliminates belt slippage up through 12 to 14 psi of boost. The eight rib assembly does require a new harmonic balancer, made by ATI Performance Products, which is a different company. The balancer cost $450.00.
A bone stock engine with stock exhaust will come with the largest pulley ATI offers, which is normally a 4.5" pulley, although we received one with a 4.75"... If the engine has headers, exhaust, cam, heads, etc, a smaller pulley and a shorter blower belt will be supplied according to what options the engine has, plus the boost desired. The D-1SC can handle a 382 ci engine with a good flowing cam and heads and make 16 psi of boost. The P-1SC would not be able to flow enough air to make this much boost, which is why everyone recommends you go with the D-1SC to begin with. They both use the same housing, the internals are the only difference. A P-1SC can be sent in to ATI and built into a D-1SC, but it cost $1,200.00 which makes it fairly expensive.
I agree with everyone and would not go with the supplied tune route, unless you don't know of anyone who can tune your car for you. The supplied tune is not available for the '97 - '98 Corvettes, and the '98 F Body.
60 lb injectors will prevent you from having to upgrade to larger injectors once you want more boost, and can be tuned quite easily. We don't see any low rpm problems with the 60lb injectors, I see no reason not to use them on a mild low boost set-up.
Give me a call at 260 244-4808 for a great price on an ATI ProCharger, the only supercharger I sell. Bob

well I just purchased my d1sc kit from bob at epp today, and I have to say everyone on this site you were right about him. WHAT A GREAT GUY TO DEAL WITH!!! he took a bunch of time out of his day today to explain everything about the different kits, and the one I am buyng and all the parts that come with it. he steered me away from buing extras that I dident really need (who else does that in the marketplace today!) and thuroughly explained why I needed the things I did. hes going to taylor my pully size for me to match the mods I already have so I get the proper and safe amount of boost. Bob you definately have two thumbs up from me! thanks for all you help. one more question for everyone, do I need to go with a lower degree thermostat than stock?
