Default Make more power by swapping out LS6 cam our LS6 heads in Blown D1SC forged LS6 motor?

Title says it all. If i were to keep either my stock lS6 cam or heads in my future forged 347 LS6 motor running 14 lbs of boost with my D1SC in my 02 Z06, will i pick up more power throughout the entire rpm band by swapping out my heads (and keeping stock cam) or swapping out cam (and keeping stock Z06 heads)?

I know swapping out both would yield the most power but if you were going to only swap one out, which will get me down the 1320 (1/4 miles) quicker?

My own personal knowledge tells me that its a no brainer that I would benefit more power wise from a nice blower cam upgrade vs. my stock LS6 heads (just as it would in a N/A application), which already flow (LS6 heads) pretty darn good from GM and the heads are less important at these boost levels (12 to 14 lbs) then they are in a N/A motor.

That being said, several other guys said the exact oppossite thing last week and that the HEADS would yield more power in my D1SC f/i application, so just doing a little more double checking b/f i conclude my research on the issue set forth in this post and before i order my blower cam 224/230, 114 lsa (+0 advance), .581 lift I am thinking about getting in the near future

The good news for a couple of you guys here, is that you don't have to do much more when you see me post the same thread on two different sections on this forum, as my research and decisions are just about complete after one week of intensive research and soul searching, and I thank all of those who have helped out!

Cam......or do both heads and cam since new heads come with dual valve springs which you need anyway and sell your stock motor as a long block.....

I agree, that is a good idea. That would take care of the whole agonizing decision for you, although you would never know if the cam by itself would make you more power than new heads, or vice versa... It would make for a great experiment for a magazine. Bob

People frequent both forums (FI and internal)

Reposting the same questions or making multiple posts on the same topic in one forum is bad netiquette.

All of your questions relating to your FI buildup could be handled in one thread in one forum.

Not trying to bust your ***** but posting repeat/very similar questions everywhere clutters the board and irritates the users and admins/mods.

KP has DART heads and a z06 cam and runs 9.4x down the 1/4.... so that tells you something..

Heads will net more avg power across the curve with the decent z06 cam. Plus net better driveability, mileage and just make it nice and dossile.

I personally like the idea up above. Sell your ls6 as a complete longblock and itll sell for good money and that'll pay extra enough for buying both heads and cam.

Default Cam for a forged 347 D1SC LS6 motor

What do you guys think about going with a G5X2 cam on a 114lsa, for a killer blower cam that will make big power throughout the entire rpm band on and off the boost?

232/240, 114 lsa, .595 to .600 lift? Would this cam work better for me on a 115 lsa?
