Default new motor

I was wondering how much money I would have to spend to get a fully built, twin turbo, big cube, ls motor. i know there is alot of other stuff you need to know, but i dont know what it is. So ask any questions you need, and i can answer them. Input is greatly apreciated.

I plan on doing all the work myself. I might buy the shortblock and do the rest, or build the whole motor. Im also shooting to be in the 800+ hp range.

Why don't you do a single and stroker?? Twins are going to require you to do everything twice...Think about it...Two turbos, two wastegates, all of the packaging...Where do you want to spool at??? Is that on pump gas?? What is your budget??? Just some things to consider..

to be honest i dont know alot about turbo motors. if one would make more power, spool faster ect, then ill do that. I would like to drive the car alot on the street. Not a dd by any means. Lets say street/strip car with more street. I would like to spool at a deacent rpm because of all the miles its going to get on the street.

ps budget isnt really an issue

Well why don't you mimick NA$TY-TA's build?? Nothing really too extravegant but it's just a solid reliable combo... You can use Search and see the entire process... He's using something like a 370ci if I remember...

Lots of good info there thanks for the replies. You have any idea how much he spent on the motor and all the stuff with it. Getting excited about getting something built.

I don't know the details but he said that his motor was pretty expensive but that's because he went with an expensive builder....Just get a shortblock from W2W or another sponsor on here and you won't be disappointed...Sink the money into the shortblock, fuel system and to beef up your tranny and rearend....yes the turbo kit is going to be expensive but really harp on those things that I highlighted...

I dont think im going to be able to use a "kit". I might have to use custom made manifolds and stuff. I imagine that will hike the price up there quite a bit, but i think it will be worth it.

I'm talking about something like a TTI race kit or something comparible...Custom pieces are going to be even pricier....You should check out MightyMouse's car which has the TTI kit if you want to see what it can do...Also check out their website...There are sooo many directions that you can go but you need to start formulating ideas of what you want your car to do...

I have about $27k into my mods and me and friends did 95% of the labor, the only thing we did not do is weld the radiator mounting tabs and weld the headers, but we could have done that to had we purchased a tig.

And I am still not done, need lots of safety equipment and a new rearend. Some people would also say I skimped on my turbos, but I am still looking into some Precision T76s

Thanks for the info everyone. I am planing on spending whatever it takes to get it done right. Its probibly not gonna happen till next year but I want to start getting ideas together now. The motor, once built, is going into a 77 Triumph TR7. Lots more fab work and more money, but it should be a fun/fast car. Keep posting info if you have anymore to contribute. Once again thanks for the help.
