Default Scavenger pump options

I've determined that it's going to be much easier to place a pair of turbos in a location that's at/below the level of the oil pan (which I was trying to avoid), so now I'm looking for suggestions/opinions on scavenger pumps. I've done a search and the Mocal is the only one I've seen used/suggested, but I've also read it can be pretty noisy. Are there any other options out there, and if so where can you buy them? I'm having a hard time finding a place just to buy the Mocal unit... Also, any advice as to why it would be a horrible terrible no good very bad idea to use a scavenger pump is welcome

i just hooked one up..had an issue with it smoaking but i made a oil resivore box thats under the turbo that pulled the oil from there and back into the pan and worked great no more smoke....

in all honestly i would love to just used gravity.. but when my setup was made i made it so i wouldent have to cut my rad support for the t76 turbo and when i wanted to go to a bigger turbo all i would have to do is snip the rad support move rad forward and id have al the rookm in the world.

as long as you have a way for the oil to collect and not gett pulled fast to eliminate the oil from foaming..

alot of people use them

companys
tilton im useing that just cause it was free
waldon hear good things about this believe its the same thing on a c5 corvette diff and can be gotten cheeper through gm..
mocal is another one.

There's a company here in Austin where I got my pump from. It's makes some noise but nothing you can hear from inside the cab. They even made the reservoir for it. I bought the needed fittings at austin performance too. The pump is a pricey unit though.

You can get the mocal/tilton fluid pump from Racer Parts Wholesale. They are based in Indianapolis, and can take orders online or over the phone. They retail for about 179.99.

They also carry a rebuild kit for it thats about 49.95. This solves the imfamous "smoking turbos syndrom" that occurs when the seals go bad in the pumps. Much better than buying a whole new pump, or having to upgrade to a $500 weldon.

****, that's small, I was expecting something larger. Shouldn't be a problem at all to fit that in there.

Not entirely sure. I noticed the tilton mentioned variable pump speed according to engine speed.

I encountered that one in a search a while back. I agree it is interesting, but I have never heard of anyone using it. It looks like it should work fine though.

I noticed it said it has a 3/8" NPT inlet, so are you using a -10 AN (or 5/8" NPT) drain out of the turbo and into the collector, then a 3/8" NPT out of the collector and into the pump?

yes, but im using 3/8" ID hose between the res and pump, and from the pump to valve cover

Can you hear it running at engine idle?

Thanks!

John
