Managed to get the Formy out...
Short version: Had tow vehicle problems, finally picked up the Formy, had more tow vehicle problems, experienced the worst traffic I have ever seen on 294, got to GLD, got harassed by tech guy, made one pass (low 11) because I got out of it because the track had a slippery spot and I thought I was going to crash, track had numerous delays and cleanups, sat in staging for another 45, left.
Long: I was going to make my first pass at 20psi, but after the long delays, I put the boost down to 15 to make a pass. I finally made a pass, but since I am a turbo rookie, I did not bring it up high enough.
So the car launched like off idle, and then took off... I hit a wet spot on the track (left lane) and the car shifted around what felt like a foot and I thought it was going to hit the wall. I guess that lane had a huge coolant spill that went all the way down the track, and they must have missed a few spots. I went back to the staging lanes. Time passed, and it got later and later, initially to clean up the spot that I told them about, but then someone else greased up the track. It got colder and colder, and hardly any cars made passes, so I didn't feel like it was a good idea putting the boost up to even fifteen psi let alone 25. So we packed 'er up and headed home. Jucin was telling me that a few fast cars got really loose in that left lane.
I hope to get out again soon, car is ready to go. Thanks again to Tom, Larry, Jim, and Dan at www.ls1speed.com, and special thanks to Keith (Magnus) for being a great friend and coming out and helping on the car.
By the way Jim, I really like that boost controller.
I pulled the car off the trailer at like midnight, and did a few 2step launches on the street. Looks like my setup takes about 3 seconds to come up on boost with the 2step at 3500.

PSJ, the car looked really nice! It went straight as a arrow until you hit the coolant on the track!!! Props for keeping it off the wall, it looked really bad from the starting line. NICE SAVE!
The rest of it will come together, it will take a little getting use to. Get it dialed in for the 14th!

Kurt pointed out that I need to bring the engine up while I am staging... since this was my first turbo pass, I just wanted to make sure it pulled clean to 7k and handled okay.

Haha Jonathon it got dynoed last week.
So far I like my current converter, the TCT blower one I had, so we'll see. I did not go fast enough to look at shift recovery and slippage... I was too busy steering over a puddle of coolant from that other guy.

Oh yeah at 3500 mine will only make like 3-5 lbs of boost and will go high 1.4's all day even on the street. lol
