Default New 1/4 and 1/8 mile bests today with the F1A

Finally hit the track today with the F1A. Well its working pretty well, on the first pass off the trailer (easy one at that) it ran a 9.13 @ 147 but no one warned me aboutt he kind of short shut down there and a slight dip at the end of the 1/4. Slamming down hard on the brakes (first time I ever ran at this track) and the dip came just at the right time. Crushed an IC pipe pretty well and ripped the T-bolt clamp off it plus tore the silicone coupler. Also hit so hard ripped off one of the new SYA bars and jammed it between the k-member and oil pan.

So I hacked it back together and made an 1/8 mile pass, ran a 5.77 @ 119 in the 1/8 (wasnt going to try the 1/4 thing again) and popped the hose off when I let off so I said screw it and called it a day. 720 miles for two passes

But the upside is its about 2psi more the the D1 maxed out and I'm spinning the F1A 6K under max impeller. 7.25/4" pulley, seeing almost 20psi @ 7000rpm. No belt slip I could see on the logs. IATs arent bad either, about the same as the D1 with the 3.7 pulley.

It was 73 degrees when making those passes, DA around 1000' or so. I'm very happy to be running that in fairly warm weather.

ATI inlet hat still on, guess it cant be THAT bad

I was leaving off the two step at only 2000rpm and that slows me down about a tenth in the 1/4 so its right at that 8 second mark. Car feels like I put a 100 shot on it with the new blower, its haulin some ***.. Bad news is I'm out of injector, 95% DC with 70psi fuel pressure on 75lb Low impedance - never ends

Didnt get the 9.13 on video but here is the 5.77 1/8 mile pass, they had the clocks blacked out anyway so it doesnt matter:

Very nice for a new combo just off the trailer. What type of bracket setup are you running? SDCE? 8 Rib ?

SDCE with a steel J bracket.

BS3 is the shznit, all you have to do is set what a/f you want and floor it - its great for making changes and not have to worry about tuning

Congrats on the new best! Video isn't ready yet, but looking at the timeslip, that 1/8 looked on track to squeek into the 9.0X's. A tenth and a half right off the bat isn't too bad. lol Hope to see it running 8's soon.

I'm very happy with it, little bit a weight off, little cooler air, little higher rpm on the two step. 8.99999 is it, and then I quit, I swear

Dayuuuum KP!!!! Awesome man. I have been to SC but never got to run. I had NO idea the shutdown had a dip like THAT....never heard about it. 1.2x 60'..........just incredible. On the vid, the car looks so stable. Does it drive like that? Are you able to tell from your logs if the converter is holding all of your new power? OH....what color chute you gonna get??!! I assume you have a higher quality version of the vid. I would like to get it from you if you wouldnt mind sending it. Ill give you a ftp site to stick it on.

Nice Runs. Hell-of-a 60'. The 1/8 mile pass would have gotten you very very close to the magic 8 second run. It does suck to travel that far for only 2 passes, but at least you know that the set-up kicks ***. Congrats.

PM me and I'll send you a little better quality vid, its only 3mb.

Car drives like a cadillac, just doesnt stop like one, well maybe it stops like a 72 sedan d'ville from 150 Track isnt that bad, just bad timing slamming on the brakes and hitting the right place where the track starts going uphill all at once.

Converter has been dropping 800rpm on the shifts, 7000 to 6200, ever since the car has been in the 9s. Seems the like the more power I throw at it the faster the car goes and the drop stays the same, cant say enough good things about the ATI converter in here - and its an 8" to boot.

No Chute, no wheelie bars, I'll find longer track

Havent compare any IAT logs yet, I'll get the laptop out of the trailer later and see where its at. I just looked at the boost at the track.

Remember I'm running 112 leaded race gas in here too, I wouldnt try 20psi on a 222/2228 cammed, 9.5:1m big exhaust 347 on anything less.

147mph leaving soft off the 2step is killer! No doubt you have 8 second power now. I could see the up dip at the end of your vid....looks like a hard transition.

Do you always run BS3 with wideband feedback? After it builds a VE table can you turn the WB off if you stay with the same combo?

Congrats on the runs kp.

Yea, not a good place to dive into the brakes at. I should have made an easier pass at first, my fault really. I was in a hurry since I got lost trying to find the place and was 1.5 hours late and they only run for 4 hours. Plus it was jam packed with cars.

I guessed at a VE table when I first put the BS3 in and never changed it, its fairly close and the correction is like -3 to -6% the whole way down the track. I am working in a real narrow RPM range, 6200-7000 after 30 feet out, so its not hard to tune it and leave it off but why not use it if its there and seems to work great. One less thing to worry about at the track when making changes.

Congrats looks like you picked a blower upgrade that did not require extreme modications to the ATI D1SC kit.

Very nice KP..... You will run 8's for sure..... By the way what Injectors are you running now? Also who did you buy the BS3 from and what options do you recommend getting for it?

Thanks
