Twice as loud, bummer....... just bought one from Bob at EPP for my 402 'street' car....there goes stealthy
Awesome performance, when is the iron block 402 going together. Sounds like the aluminum bock is moving around.
I have one question for you after reading several posts by you and following your personal page.
Isn't drag racing addicting, or should I say the quest for quicker e.t.'s?
I bought an LS1 car last year to avoid this sick addiction to the dragstrip that I inherited several years ago, and now what was going to be a nice daily driver 11.50-11.80 normally aspirated car has already turned into a supercharged 402 and I have only had for less than 6mo. Ohhh Boy!
Great performance and BTW who are you kidding I can see 8.50's by the end of this year. I would do a removable chute mount out the liscense plate

I guess drag racing can be kind of addicting, they will be my 27th year of having some kind of drag race car lol, its only as addicting as you wallet (and common sense) allows but I've already gone quite a bit quicker so my only goal is to just have a car that runs as well as it can.
Honestly I already have the D1SC and the 3.7 pulley back on the car, my only real goals were to get the car consistantly in the 9s, did that, and get the car well in the 5s in the 1/8, did that. This year I am just going to lighten the car up a little, fine tune things a little more and just have some fun with it. NMCA has thenew EFI class with a 9.50 index and there are a few 6.0 index races local and the D1 will easily get the car there.

The 90lbs isnt going to hurt me much Jerry, I could just put a powerglide in the car and even that loss out some. But I dont want to lose the one mounting point for the procharger bracket, I know some guys use them but I dont want to. Plus I really doubt the iron block is going to help the head gasket issue a ton. I'd like to do an LSx block, that hole is there but from what I gather the 6 bolt heads will all be LS7 and that means changing everything. I'm in no hurry to do anything right now

KP,
Bob's brother here from EPP. When you first started this project, did you ever run it with a Procharger and a stock LS1? I'm curious on the LT1 vs LS1 difference and our two cars would have been a good comparison. With the exception of a K-member, I'm still at stock weight and am getting ready to go on a slight reduction to try to get in the 10's. (and hopefully some power increase without A/C, water pump, power steering )

One of my favorite cars of all time really, engine lasted a year then I took the blower off, did patriot heads, the old 224 XER cam, took out about 150lbs and a 125 NX MAF kit, ran 10.40 with it and broke the #7 piston on the last pass in this vid

That should give you enough to go on

Thanks Kevin,
That gives me some hope. My sixty foot is there just need a diet...for the car that is. It's at 3650 with me in it (post Taco Bell ) and hope to loose a couple hundred.
