HELLFIRE rings?? How much BOOST
Quick question im buidling a turbocharged 8.5-9.0 to 1 compression motor.
I want to basically know how much boost is neccessary to make 700rwhp on this compression on this motor
***Quick breakdown:
1999 Trans Am M6
Standard 346 forged pistons/rods
Mahle forged dish pistons -16cc on stock head leaves 9:1 compression
EAGLE or SCAT forged 6.125 H-beams w/ ARP2000 bolts
Stock cleaned up crank
'02 LS6 Z06 Cam
ARP Main studs and Head studs
Stock ported heads 2.02/1.60 Manley valves bla bla (why? cuz i already have them and not wasting more money) lol thats one less question to answer
***The MAHLE pistons that are on Lingenfelters site come with "premium" rings included with the pistons/wrist pin etc etc....
***I want to make NICE power (as close to if not more than 700rwhp) but im wondering if the "HELLFIRE" "Total Seal File Fit STAINLESS" rings that are sold seperately are better for boosting about max 15psi or MORE and if they are good for a daily driven weekend "race" car. Lingenfelter told me that they use the "better" (Hellfire) rings on cars/engines that are boosting alot (meaning around 15psi or more) AND i called them basically because they give 3 yr/36,000 warranty on most of their car/engine packages so i figured that must mean something good u know...
IS IT WORTH IT with those rings its only about $140 more for the rings seperately but i also heard that the better the rings are the worse it is for the motor since they wear differently???? Should i just stay with the rings that come with these pistons and boost the **** out of the motor and enjoy or WHAT details like this drive me nuts...decisions decisions...
***************THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!

i have heard good things aobut hellfire rings on FI or nitrous applications but havent ever used them, so no personal experiance. do they make them in a 3.905" bore now? when i built my engine they only came in a 4.0+ bore.
id probably use them for my next engine.
for approximatly 700rwhp (135mph at 3600-3700 raceweight) on my 347 i used 15psi

Yeah they make them in a bunch of sizes now and a few of them in less then 4.00" sizes. Thats why im asking i think for the street 700rwhp will be the limit to whats safe, whats fun and what will actually be considered somewhat "driveable" altogether, just trying to decide whether its going to be THAT much of a major decision when i order the pistons. My machine shop guy told me its better to have the rings take a crap then the sleeves/cylinder. So im kind of leaning towards the rings that already come with them since they're made of a "softer" material....
Anyways you guys theyre worth the supposed "extra" wear and tear on the motor? compared to the Mahle rings that are included with the pistons im looking at? The ones included should be regular moly if i remember correctly and in standard sizes of course...

i just want it to be "reliable" and good for daily driving (no smoke, blowby none of that craziness) at the same time with alot of power...which is what it seems like they're good for. Obviously alot of that with have to do with engine assembly and the machine shop prepping the motor..
Thanks anyways for the opinions/experiences!, really appreciate it. I'll look them up 2 see if i can get a decent deal on them somewhere....any other ideas besides the ones mentioned above??
