front mounted turbo w/ truck manifolds guys come in
I justt comleted my welding classes at the local jr collage and now im building my turbo kit. Do you guys with truck manifold turbo set ups keep your front sway bar ? also i ran into a little problem. Im using some 6.0 stainless steel truck headers that suppose to be a direct replacement of the stock manifolds, one runner is almost kissing my steering shaft where the ujoint slide onto. I was thinking shorten the shaft and weld a u joint up higher and use 2 ujoints or just selling these headers and using the stock manafolds. I just like the way these headers look. Any suggestions?

dude,
take the area that is kissing the shaft cut it out, looks like a size of a quarter, cut it out with a hole saw, turn the piece that you just cut out inside out and reweld back were you cut it. (you will have to fill the hole for the 1/4 bit from the hole saw, I would do this first berfore reinstalling). It will look like your header was coped for clearnace if the weld comes out ugly just sand it off and re-polish your area. its kinda like taking it from convex to concave, get it

That is the problem with the stock replacement header's.In order to make the bend's they are a little wider than the manifold's.I thought about that option but chose to stick with the manifold's.Better choice I think.I also still have my sway bar connected. You can go to the truck manifold section at the top of the page and find about everything you would want to know and a *** load of pic's also to look at. Hope this helps.
