700whp - Which clutch?
Which clutch do you guys suggest for a daily driven, 700whp, twin-turbo f-body....
The motor was stripped down tonight for my twin turbo build and its still the factory clutch, so i'm gonna replace it while everythign is out... what do you guys think?
Textralia?

I'm partial to Mcleod. They have a new double disc unit that uses your stock flywheel called the RST. It's good for 600hp and feels like a stock honda clutch. If that's not enough you can step up to the more aggresive unit the RXT with MIBA discs. Same setup, better discs and I've heard that should hold up to 1000hp.

I've got a Mcleod street twin in vette. Its holding 700hp/600tq @ the wheels so far with a bunch of 10sec passes thrown in there.
I actually just sent it back to them to get freshened up while I have the trans out.

Run as fast and as far away from Spec as you can, they build junk clutches.
I'd go with any other brand but Spec. Some have had luck, but do you want to chance it. I killed 4 of their clutches (5 if you count the slipping POS stage 3 that was in my t76 supra) in 4000 miles, a stock replacement lasted longer than all of them combined.
The best clutch you'll ever run is a TH400 though

Zombie your one of the few that do not like them there are way more people that like them than don't. I have used the stage three with great results. I am sure you are very hard on your clutches since you probibly do the 1/4 mile more than you drive street miles.

Actually I thank Spec for persuading me to conver to Th400, it's a lot more fun
FWIW I also so a RAM Cintered Iron disc (don't know the exact model) last less than 3k miles on a turbo f-body here.
Of all the specs that I had the Stage 5 was the best, until the pressure plate took a dump (was the last straw for me), the disc looked ok though. I've seen people have the best success with the Stage 5, it drives nice too if you don't mind the chirp.
