Default Give me your PUMP gas numbers!!

Question for all of ya'll! That's fantastic that you can pull 800rwhp with a nice mix, but have any of you guys dyno'd with just pump gas? I'm trying to figure out what is realistic and what's not. Please state if you are using Methanol injection. (93 Octane U.S.)

800 here. Probably could have got more, but why push it and chance damage to the engine.

I may be mistaken but I think you can get a max of about 1000 hp on pump gas

its dumb to go past 800 on even a big cube LSX motor.

if its a track car, use race gas

if its a street car, you ain't hookin over 800whp

and if you do turn it up for a night in the street, put in some good gas :bang2:

can it be done? yes
is it risky? hells ya

If that's the case, what is the formula for an 800+ rwhp pump gas car?

a big sack and money to replace an engine

dont get me wrong, alot people do it. i've been there. its just A LOT of power to think you are going to do it reliably and have your engine last on pump gas.

what's the most power you've had out of curiosity? i see a lot of guys doing the 500-->800/1000hp jump that want to do it the cheapest way possible

Hahahha... I dont think 1000HP and safely should ever be used in the same sentence. Nothing is "Safe" above 600RWHP on an LS based motor... as you go up from there.. your risk factor goes up.

Lol, Well, workin on both those. So my desire for 750 RWHP on pump ALONE is not completely unreasonable? I wat to be able to drive my car to work when ever I feel, (without spending $10 gallon for 116) But I plan on putting in a few gallons of 116 on the weekend just to turn up the boost and have some fun. Any input guys? anyone doing this sorta thing?

made 890 rwhp on 12 psi and 93, no meth.

I made 1 run at 16 psi and emade 990 rwhp also on 93 no meth. But the most I run on 93 is 12 psi. Not worth risking more then that, and can't hook even 890 anyway

890 is fantastic for 12 psi... What size turbo's if you don't mind me asking? any stats like lb/hr? And you don't feel like your having any detonation?

I know it's not cheap, and i'm not expecting reliabiliy but i'm curious to see what is possible for a street car. BTW, what are you running?

i had a 76gts 365ci setup. it made 749whp on a conservative tune. with some changes and boost, i guestimated it was making close to 800w this year.

next setup is a 408 w/ a S88. more cubes and turbo you got, more power you can make on pump

yup. main reason i took it apart was the clutch pushed my crank forward. but i also had a little bit of detonation. not much, but enough. good too greedy on pump.

the new setup i will probably only take up to 12-13 psi on pump with LOW timing

879 on 93 pump gas from the local store....low timing was the key, left alot of power on the table.....14 degrees timing on 12 psi.....
